雪景的种类，不同的雪景，有不同的拍摄技巧。依据雪的形态，雪景可分为飘雪、积雪和风雪景观。拍摄飘雪时，应该选择雪团直径大且密度又较稀的雪天，并用深色的背景（建筑物、街道、树林等），把雪团飘落的轨迹衬托出来。

拍摄积雪景观最需要准确的曝光，必须考虑许多复杂的因素，如天气的阴晴、时间的早晚、光照的方向和角度、雪的色泽和覆盖情况等等，有经验的拍摄者，会在测光值的基础上大胆增加一些曝光量。此外，面对阳光和雪地，必须合理使用滤色镜。
