一见钟情的背后，往往都是无尽的苦果和数不清的等待……12年前，华盛顿广场某个被月光笼罩的美丽夜晚，莱拉·诺瓦切克，一个从小就被父亲保护过度的大提琴手，希望可以从让人透不过气的紧密盯防中稍稍松一口气，跑到屋顶的她却偶遇背着吉他、英俊且魅力十足的爱尔兰歌手路易斯·康纳利。在街头歌手演奏的《月宫舞》徐徐萦绕的旋律中，莱拉和路易斯相遇并迅速坠入爱河，音乐成了他们能够分享的共同语言，发生在他们之间的情感维系是真实不可否定的，可惜的是，却很短暂。
