I have appalling taste in music. It's so appalling that my sister once promised she'd play Duran Duran's Rio at my funeral, and I don't really let anyone look at my CD collection or at my iPod playlists. It's also a terribly small collection -- apparently, the price for owning so many movies and comics is that I never get around to finding new music.
But there's one category I absolutely revel in, and that's cheesy film music. More specifically, I love almost all of those power ballads that once graced the closing credits, montages, or love scenes, or every other scene of Rocky IV. Such rocking, aching, big-haired music is pretty much extinct in movie soundtracks these days, having taken its last gasps with Celine Dion, Evanescence, and Bryan Adams. I don't think that's a bad thing. The enjoyment I take in them is largely retro anyway -- I like remembering the preteen who was convinced she was the only one who would ever have Everything I Do (I Do It For You) at her wedding. (Hey, I was 12, and I grew out of it!)
So, seeing as it's Monday and we're smack in the middle of blockbuster season (and it was always the big budget movies that could recruit Cheap Trick and Jon Bon Jovi), let's confess our favorites to one another. No judging, no mocking, just total appreciation for the stuff that's still playing on an endless, easy-listening radio loop. Who knows -- maybe it'll inspire you to make a cheesy iPod playlist of your own.
To get you started, I've embedded one that was mentioned quite a bit in the comments last week, inspiring me to write this one, and that's Clannad's I Will Find You. It was a sad day for Celtic / Irish themed movies when Clannad stopped writing echo-filled Gaelic tunes for them. Check it out after the jump ...

Julie & Julia is a 2009 American comedy-drama film written and directed by Nora Ephron starring Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, Amy Adams, and Chris Messina. The film contrasts the life of chef Julia Child in the early years of her culinary career with the life of young New Yorker Julie Powell, who aspires to cook all 524 recipes in Child's cookbook in 365 days, a challenge she described on her popular blog that would make her a published author.
Ephron's screenplay is adapted from two books: My Life in France, Child's autobiography written with Alex Prud'homme, and a memoir by Julie Powell documenting online her daily experiences cooking each of the 524 recipes in Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and she later began reworking that blog, The Julie/Julia Project。 Both of these books were written and published in the same time frame (2004–06). The film is the first major motion picture based on a blog。这是我最喜欢的一部电影之一,我在维基网络上找的资料,你根据那里的资料改一改,至于观点,你可以写坚持自己的兴趣和爱好这一方面,写兴趣是最好的老师什么的,给你个链接

《Big Fish》
It is a fairy tale talking about family bonds. When the father was young, it was his favorite to tell stories to his little boy. But when the boy grew up, he thought those stories were all fake. As a result, he disliked his father and lived far away from his father. Many years later, the father caught cancer and didn't have much time to live, so the son came back home to look after him. This time the son realized the strong love contained in those fancy stories and the two forgave each other. From this movie, I learned how to deal with generation gap between father and son.

GHOST, in my opinion, is an excellent romance about true love that lasts eternally. When Sam (Patrick Swayze) got mugged, I got really scared. You'll have to see the movie if you want to know why. If you ask me, Maurice Jarre's score is absolutely beautiful. To me, Carl (Tony Goldwyn) was a very creepy guy. Also, Willie (Rick Aviles) was just as scary as he was. I was amazed at the way Sam could step through anything in his ghostly state. All in all, everyone involved in this film did an outstanding job. In conclusion, if you like Patrick Swayze or Demi Moore, this is definitely a movie to see. You will really be touched by it.

The pianist
This is a movie though the Jewish pianist’seyes of the Germans ring World WarⅡ and exposed to the cruel massacre of the Jews. Before the Nazi came to power, the family of the pianist was living well. With the Nazi persecution of the Jews deepened, the family lived more and more hard. They were forced to move to a cluster with other Jews, and then one day they had to leave for another unknown place. What impressed me so much is the old father bought a small milk sugar and then cut it to pieces for other families. But soon they were separated, the families were taken to concentration camp, only the pianist saved by a Jew assistant police. After that, the pianist started the long road to escape.

电影评论,简称影评,是对一部电影的导演、演员、镜头语言、拍摄技术、剧情、线索、环境、色彩、光线等进行分析和评论。下面是我给大家整理的电影影评英语范文,供大家参阅!
During the summer vacation, I watched a lot of movies, such as , “Hilary and Jackie”, “Up(飞屋环游记)”, “The Shawshank Redemption [ri'dempʃən]” ,“ The Legend ['ledʒənd] of 1900”,“ The Truman Show”,“ He's Just Not That Into You” and so on.Now I will share my deepest feelings about some movies with you together and taste it.
First of all,the movie “Hilary and Jackie” translated “她比烟花寂寞”in Chinnese. The six words include the infinite ['infinət] deep profound. The film is divided into two sections, the first telling events from Hilary's point of view and the second from Jackie's. It opens with Hilary and Jackie as children being taught by their mother to dance and play musical instruments, the cello for Jackie and the flute for Hilary. Jackie does not take practicing seriously at first, but when she does, she becomes a virtuoso [,və:tju'əuzəu],
quickly rising to international prominence. Hilary, on the other hand, plays in a community orchestra ['ɔ:kistrə, -kes-] and marries Christopher
of composer Gerald克里斯多夫, the son 杰拉尔德Finzi. The film, though focused primarily on Jacqueline, is ultimately ['ʌltimətli] about the relationship between the two sisters and their dedication to one another; to help Jacqueline through a
nervous-breakdown, Hilary consents to Jacqueline having an affair with her husband.
The last quarter of the movie chronicles in detail the last fifteen years of Jacqueline's life, ring which she is diagnosed with multiple ['mʌltipl] sclerosis
[skliə'rəusis] and loses control of her nervous system, becomes paralyzed
['pærəlaizd], goes deaf and mute [mju:t], and finally dies. The film ends with Jacqueline's ghost standing on the beach where she used to play as a child, watching herself and her sister frolicking in the sand as little girls..
The second movie , I was going to say the “UP”
Up is definitely one of the better Pixar efforts. It's about the grandeur
['ɡrændʒə] and excitement of flight and adventure. The first ten minutes of the film about Carl and his life-long love Ellie are surprisingly touching. It's heartbreaking to see him lose his wife even at old age. With nothing left to do Carl heads for South America, but he's not alone. Russell, a Wilderness Explorer [ik'splɔ:rə] trying to earn his
['ænimeitid] films. Like other Pixar films Up is also very funny. Thankfully, it's sweet humour instead of the gross humour that's present in many of today's Hollywood films. In conclusion, Up is another daring, unusual and beautiful animated ['ænimeitid] film from Pixar that both children and alts will enjoy watching. I highly recommend it.
Finally, the “The Shawshank Redemption [ri'dempʃən]”.I don’t know how to express the feeling about this film. the movie is so great and Andy is a bloody
smart man! When I had finished watching the movie,I was excited and wanted to watch it again.Wheather the figures and details or the spirit that the music conveyed to.
I like Andy ,for his talent and his wisedom . And the most important thing that I like is his spirit—never giving up.
初学者Beginners
The movie talks about a love story of a man whose father decided to come out after his old wife dead. The protagonist was a little bit autistic because of his home environment. After he met a beautiful girl at a masquerade party and fall in love with her, his life became different and colorful. But it’s not easy to maintain this relationship e to both of them grew up in a disharmony family. At last, they learned how to love each other and solve the problems. I do believe that we all are beginners, there are many things that we aren’t good at, and we should face and try to deal with it, not just escape.
It’s a science fiction. The main character in the film is a man. And he writes letters for living, it’s a boring job as well as his life. As the story went on, the protagonist got an AI system that can talk as a real human by chance. Not long ago, he just broken with his girlfriend, but soon he found that AI is easier to get along with than real people. Surprisingly, he and “her” both feel like falling in love with each other, it makes him feel very happy. But good times don’t last long, they would quarrel, and it’s not easy to have an AI “girlfriend”. In the end, all of AI left people, in myopinion it’s because they love people. And they don’t want to hurt people. This is my favorite movie this year.
The Hitchhikes Guide to the Galaxy This movie is a classic science fiction comedy, adapted from a popular book with the same title written by Douglas Adams. In a peaceful morning, the protagonist was having breakfast, and at the moment, the construction team was going to force demolition of his home. Of course he was very angry, but his best friend who looks “nerves” came out suddenly and admitted he is an alien, then took him to a big space ship. After that, the aliens who own the space ship destroyed the earth. Thanks to his alien friend, as the last human being, he started aninterstellar journey full of excitement and fun.

乱世佳人的影评
"GONE WITH THE WIND" was a mad dream in procer David Selznick's brain and he turned it into one of the great soap operas of cinema history. The last re-release celebrated the film's 50th anniversary in 1989. This time, the three-hour and 42-minute epic has been remastered in digital sound and the color has been tinkered with to bring back the original Technicolor glory.
The movie plays its role in movie history, becoming one of the great box-office performers in the pre-Steven Spielberg and George Lucas days. The search to find Selznick's ideal Scarlett O'Hara, the willful Southern belle who would destroy several Southern gentlemen in pursuit of the man she loved but who didn't love her, was the talk of Hollywood.
Bette Davis, Paulette Goddard, Jennifer Jones, Katharine Hepburn and many others failed to capture the showcase role that would go to British stage actress and girlfriend of Laurence Olivier, Vivien Leigh.
The sexual tension and humorous byplay between Leigh and co-star Clark Gable, in the role of gentleman rogue Rhett Butler, was riveting. And so was Leigh's portrayal of a viper trying to consume the good-hearted Ashley Wilkes, embodied by the fine-boned Hungarian-turned-British actor, Leslie Howard.
Victor Fleming was the accredited director of the picture, and he won the best-director Academy Award for it, but George Cukor worked on "Gone With the Wind" (he was fired after 10 days into filming), and so did many others. Selznick was as hands-on a procer as ever there was, so his imprint is seared in the final proct. Selznick is said to have used 15 writers but to have written and directed key scenes himself.
Although the picture is responsible for fostering many unpleasant racial biases in its depiction of the slaves working at Tara, the O'Hara estate, and Twelve Oaks, the Wilkes' place, the movie also has the virtue of featuring some of the great black performers of the time, including the memorable Hattie McDaniel.
Some of the wonderful scenes to look for include Scarlett's throwing herself at the polite Ashley and then learning that Rhett has heard the whole embarrassing thing, the burning of Atlanta, the sequence leading to the birth of Melanie's child and Scarlett's plucky seamstress work with the drapes.
If you've never seen this on the big screen, you are in for a treat.
