英语电影译制成中文电影的过程中，可以应用各种各样的翻译技巧，那么，英语电影片名的特点和翻译技巧。

中国的电影翻译事业已有五十多年的历史。在这超过半个世纪的时间中，电影翻译工作者给广大观众奉献出了许多优秀的译制片，观众从这些优秀的译制片中领略到了异国的风土人情，同时也感受到了不同语言带给人的无穷魅力。许多优秀的译制片的译名已经成为了人们津津乐道的经典之作，随着电影的流传成为人们心中的美好印记。本文拟对英文电影的片名翻译技巧进行分析。

一、英语电影片名的翻译技巧

(一)直译法

直译是在片名翻译中根据源语、目标语的特点，最大限度地保留原片名的内容和形式。当源语与目的'语在功能上达到重合时，这是最简单而且性质有效的翻译方法。直译既保留原标题的思想内容，又保留原标题的表达形式，使二者达到完美的同意。电影片名能直译的应尽量直译。在文字凝练上下功夫，力求体现电影的内涵。如Roman Holiday译作《罗马假日》，Sense and Sensibility译作《理智与情感》，Rain Man译作《雨人》等等。

(二)意译法

由于各国文化的差异，一部英语电影的片名往往尤其独特的内在含义，这种意义很难从目的语中找出对应的词语进行翻译。如果强行直译，译出的片名不仅失去原来片名的特色还会令人感到费解，这样译出的片名就没有达到其应有的含义。因此，在这种情况下，通常采取意译的方面，不受字面词语的束缚，找到对应的能表达出原文情感的词语。例如，美国电影Waterloo Bridge讲述的是贵族出身的青年军官罗伊·克劳宁与美貌的芭蕾舞明星马拉的爱情悲剧，电影故事的开头和结局都在滑铁卢桥。如果直译片名的话，那就成了滑铁卢桥，对于中国观众来说，一看到滑铁卢桥，首先想到的很可能是拿破仑战败的滑铁卢战役，这样的译文不仅寡然无味，还会让人产生误解，因此这种翻译就不是十分恰当。而如果从电影所要表达的含义来看，这个电影讲述的是一个凄美的爱情故事，那么在翻译时就可以大胆地加入文学色彩浓烈的词语。本片最终译为了《魂断蓝桥》，“魂断”儿子点出悲剧内涵，不仅吻合剧情，而且使整个片名典雅蕴藉，神似原题，高于原题。类似的例子还有：The Fugitive译为《亡命天涯》，Bodyguard译为《护花倾情》，Passenger译为《九霄屠龙》，Night Killer译为《来者不善》，Revenge译为《蝶恋花》等等。这些译名不仅很好地传达了源语的韵味，还融入了很多中国特色，让观众能够更好地欣赏。

(三)意译和直译结合法

在将英语电影译制成中文电影的过程中，可以应用各种各样的翻译技巧，如：主、谓、宾、定、状、补语成分之间的互换，语言的扩充和省略，词性的转换。因此，更多的时候，译者都是使用直译和意译相结合的方法。这种方法是根据源语言所处的具体语言环境，对其做恰当的改动和变更，这样做有助于更准确表达出源语言的丰富内涵，使语言的前后连接更通顺合理，更符合中国观众的语言习惯和逻辑思维习惯，而不会破坏源语的本意。比如，Titanic译为《铁达尼号》，既与发音相似，又能表现出该船的庞大和豪华;Tarzan译为《人猿泰山》，泰山和Tarzan发音相似又能表现出主任工的强壮、敦厚，为了避免误解，加了“人猿”儿子，准确的表明电影的内容。

(四)增字法

在翻译技巧理论中，“增字法是在翻译时按意义上(或修辞上)和句法上的需要增加一些词来更忠实通顺地表达原文的思想内容。”在翻译片名时，尤其是当直译英文名而使片名内容不够充实或不够吸引人时，要用到此技巧。如加拿大艾莲斯通信公司1996年出品的虽Crash，本片虽引起巨大争议，但是在翻译时却需要多加考虑。因为Crash这个词可指车也可以指飞机，为了使观众在观看电影之前有一个明确的概念，更为了吸引更多眼球，本片译为《撞车》;与此相似，澳大利亚1995年出品的由动物出演的Babe译为《小猪巴比》。为了更加明确，更具吸引力，可适当运用增字法。

Every day, Christ had to work hard from morning till night, but still could hardly make a living. Chris saw a bunch of suits, mostly male, pouring out of the Dean Witter Reynolds brokerage firm in downtown San Francisco. They all looked “happy,” “Why not me? “ Christ wondered. He did have an adorable boy, Christopher, but wife Linda was becoming a scarecrow of overworked anxiety. Finally, his wife left Christ because of life pressure, leaving him and her five-year-old son, Christopher. And naturally, Christ became a single father.
With the failure of his business, Christ had no money to pay for the rent, so they were driven away from the flat. They became homeless. They slept in asylum, subway station public bathroom or anywhere as a temporary shelter. The destitution of life was absolutely depressing, but for his son’s future, for his own belief, Christ never gave up and he still strongly believed that happiness would come one day if he worked hard enough today.
With his great efforts, Christ won a six-month internship at Dean Witter, but there was no pay at all. So on one hand, Christ had to work hard to make a living; on the other hand, he had to fight for his intern work, since only one of the twenty interns would succeed finally. Besides, he had to take good care of his son after day care. However, Christ made it with his amazing willpower.
Christ was unfortunate, for he got a wife who was not understandable at all (though she has her own difficulties) and was in bad luck with his business. But he was very fortunate also, for he got a son who was very thoughtful and, I think, tough life experiences always make a great person.

It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me most are: Christ’s wife left him because of life pressure; Christ’s love to his son and Christ’s strong belief towards life. Through these, I know that it is not easy to be a good husband and a good Papa, since in reality, only love cannot only make everything. And I also learn that one has to strongly believe in himself, no matter how difficult the situation is, but of course, hard-working is indispensable.

(二)教师专业发展的需要

步骤一:欣赏(赏):欣赏整部带内应和要学习的片段,从画面、音乐、情节、英文对白各方面引导学生欣赏,电影以其音美、画美、意美的特质深深地吸引着学生的注意力。这是语言输入的良好契机,可视、可听的语言内容更是增强理解和记忆的效果。在不知不觉中把学生牵引到艺术的殿堂与知识的海洋,在审美体验与审美享受中接受信息,这样的学习才会学有所“乐”。
步骤二:分析(析):分析角色的语言、表达的心理和神情动作等以及文化背景,帮助学生扫除语言理解上的障碍,认识中西方文化背景上的差异,学习真正地道的英文。例如:《狮子王》中虫虫和野猪的对话。

步骤三:模仿(模):由一个单词,到一个词组,再到整个句子,力求发音准确。语调、语速的模仿是最困难的,必须结合动作和神态,体会人物的心理活动。多种研究表明,语言的习得都是从模仿重复开始的,儿童学习语言,是从字——词——句的模仿、重复再到自由组合字——词——句的递进过程。通过有趣的机械模仿,在一遍又一遍的简单重复中,一词一句已悄然印入学生的脑海之中。看到学生能真正融入到角色之中,说明语言已经进入到他的思维中。
步骤四:表演(演):一般2~3分钟的一个片段适合3~4个同学组成一组来练习表演。
(1)分好角色:角色的分配要科学合理。平时口语能力较差的学生分配少而简单的台词,外向活泼的学生分配滑稽幽默有一定难度的内容,每组分配一位口语较好,模仿力强的学生做“领头羊”,带领全组一起练习,通过优化组合的群体促进个体的学习。
(2)小组练习:学生各个组同时练习,没有被暴露压力,教师要适时地观察和指导,个别单词的发音,语调等。
(3)表演与评价:每组学生到全体同学前面表演一次,老师或同学来做评价。指出每组的亮点和不足,从语言模仿,到表演技巧,舞台的站位、眼神、身体语言、动作、姿势、神情、语气和声调,以及合作、创新,逐渐培养学生的表演素养。
(4)再练习和表演:多看同伴的表演,学会欣赏与评价,指出别人的优点和不足,对自己也是学习与促进的过程。让学生多多面对观众,适应不同的表演场所,比如,经常组织学生在全校性的文艺活动中表演,逐步消除他们的紧张情绪。
常常在每个片段的练习表演结束后,每个学生能把别人的台词都背得滚瓜烂熟,并能绘声绘色地表演出来。这是因为在同伴那儿的信息摄取有时会比在老师那儿的摄取更容易,更快捷。学生经常在下课或自己编的对话中不自觉地运用到电影中的语言。这是因为学生的表演已使影片中的语言渐渐渗入其思维之中,从而内化成自己的语言。
步骤五:配音(配):配音不是一件简单的事,看着画面,对上口型,配上流利地道的英语,常常不是忘了台词,就是跟不上语速,或是发错了音,或是语调不对而紧张得手忙脚乱。这是对他们的意志力的一种考验;同时揭开银幕后神秘的面纱,让学生走进录音棚做一回“电影人”是他们一生都难以忘怀的经历,看到自己录制的VCD时,成功的感觉令他们更加自豪,自信。
步骤六:编剧(编):适合小学六年级以上的学生。学生自己编写英文剧本,组织学生排练和表演。考虑到舞台布景、音乐、角色、表现等方方面面,是一个极大的挑战,但是学生参与以后,收益匪浅。由原来单一的模仿,语言输入,通过活动内化成准确的输出语言。真正学以致用了。
