The crown jewel of 1995's summer blockbusters appears to have arrived early。 It's hard to imagine any motion picture released between now and August matching Mel Gibson's Braveheart for spectacle。 With its clashing armies, heartstopping action, and grand sense of romance, this is the sort of film it's a pleasure to see and review。
Let me state my preferences up front。 I'm a big fan of the epic adventure, a category in which Braveheart, like cream, rises to the top。 There's a lot in this film that's praiseworthy -- not the least of which is its ambition。 Those viewing this picture may be easily reminded of Gettysburg, The Last of the Mohicans, Glory, and such classics as Lawrence of Arabia, El Cid, and Spartacus。 The grandeur is certainly present; nevertheless, Gibson gives us not only memorable battles, but characters of real substance。
Borrowing from masters like Sam Peckinpah and David Lean, the actor/director has crafted an exceptional cinematic tapestry in only his sophomore effort。 Most of the time, three hour movies have a few flat spots, but Braveheart is constantly on the move -- riveting from start to finish。 When the end credits began to roll, I was hard pressed to accept that nearly 170 minutes had elapsed。
The title character is William Wallace (Gibson), a hero of Scottish history whose legend has surely outstripped fact (in its own unique way, the film acknowledges this)。 Wallace fought for Scotland's freedom in the late 13th century, wielding his broadsword and influence to defeat the forces of King Edward I (Patrick McGoohan), the British monarch who had declared himself king of Scotland upon the former ruler's demise。
Braveheart builds slowly to its first gritty climax。 Much of the early film concentrates on Wallace's love for Murron (Catherine McCormack)。Their courtship is unhurried, yet this is all preparation。 The real meat of the story, which includes political mechanations, betrayal, and dramatic battles, is yet to e。 Patrick Henry once said, "Give me liberty, or give me death!" That might well be Wallace's motto。 "It's all for nothing if you don't have freedom!" The nobles of Scotland fight for land and riches, but Wallace stands for the indivial, and earns respect with words and deeds。
Bulked up and wearing a long-haired wig, Gibson brings his usual wealth of charisma to the title role。 Patrick McGoohan, best known from TV's Secret Agent Man and The Prisoner, is almost unrecognizable beneath a snowy beard。 His Edward the Longshanks exudes an aura of cold menace。 He's a worthy foe for Wallace because his intelligence matches his ruthlessness。 Sophie Marceau, the French actress who plays Princess Isabelle, and Catherine McCormack are both immensely appealing。

This should've gone straight to video。 Evan Almighty was not able to manage the expectations of those who came to see it anticipating as riotous a ride as its predecessor Bruce Almighty。 It retained the premise of the original as a spin-off but it doesn't work not because Steve Carell is less talented than Jim Carrey but because he had lousy material to work with。 Even Morgan Freeman (who reprises his role as God) lost the zing and impressive qualities he had in the first installment。
Evan Almighty apparently targets a family audience with its decidedly more religious overtones (check out what ARK really means), so it shouldn't have attempted to fool the audience by maintaining the Almighty franchise because it doesn't fit; its brand of humor and story simply failed to keep up。
It would've probably done better if it were marketed differently instead of lazily riding on the success of Bruce Almighty when it painfully couldn't deliver the same punches。

Film Review of Pride and Prejudice.
Pride and Prejudice is a famous classic written by jane Austen. I was attracted by the characters and plots of the film adapted from the novel.
Elizabeth is the heroine of the story. When she meets Darcy, a handsome, rich but arrogant man, on the party for the first time, she is dissatisfied with the proud manner of Darcy. Darcy looks down on those who are in a lower social class,
including Elizabeth. However, after getting to know the courage, independence and confidence of Elizabeth, he almost falls in love with her. But Elizabeth believes the lies of Wickham which causes her great prejudice to Darcy. She rejects Darcy’s propose marriage to protect her self-respect. Finally, Darcy goes away because he couldn’t tolerate Elizabeth’s sisters’ vulgar manners. He writes a long letter to explain his thoughts and love to Elizabeth. After reading it, Elizabeth feels guilty about
misjudging Darcy and regrets turning him down. As time goes away, Darcy graally improves his pride and keeps helping Elizabeth’s family out from troubles. At last, Elizabeth removes the prejudice to Darcy and accepts his propose marriage.
From the film I learn that we can’t judge a man immediately by the first impression. If we are controlled by our subjective senses, it will easy cause prejudice and
misunderstanding and probably influent the developments of many events. To avoid this situation, we need more communication to understand others deeply by ourselves.
Forrest Gump grows up in the county of Greenbow, Alabama. He lives with his mom, who is a real smart and strong woman. Although Forrest’s IQ is only 75, his mom manages to let him have the finest ecation, and always tell him “You are no different”. In school, Forrest meets a girl named jenny, and they become best friends. Under jenny’s encouragement, Forrest discovers his ability to run like the wind blows. Fortunately, this ability gives him the chance to go to college where he becomes an all-star football player.
After graation, Forrest joins the army for service in Vietnam, and he finds new friends Bubba and Dan. In the war, Forrest rescues many comrades, but Bubba is seriously wounded and dies. Lieutenant Dan, the platoons commanding officer, is also badly wounded and loses both legs. He chastises Forrest for saving him, insisting that he should die honorably on the battlefield instead of becoming a cripple.
When Forrest gets back from Vietnam, he is awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions. During the next several decades, Forrest becomes a war hero, a famous ping-pang player, a national celebrity, a successful businessman, and something of an American idol. Forrest successfully realizes Bubba’s dream and help Dan discover his self-worth. Finally, Forrest marries jenny, and has a happy life with his son after jenny dies.
“Life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get.” When the first time jenny asked Forrest to run away and the first time Forrest freed himself from the bondage, hope has been growing up in his mind. Though Forrest is surely a little stupid, he believes “stupid is as stupid does”, so he fears nothing and does his best. In his innocence, Forrest does what he feels he has to do, no matter the situations and the people around him, lead only by an inner sense of right. My heart is deeply shocked by this “stupid” man, and I think in recent times we surely need this spirit. So, let’s have a try now.

I honestly don't know where to start with this movie. I will say however, that - like many other people - this is the film I've been waiting 20 years to see.
I suppose it's sensible to start with what should be the foundation stone of any cinematic experience - the script. It's cheesy, cliché-ridden, and poorly-structured. Characterisation (especially of the Autobots/Decepticons) is non-existent. Optimus Prime uttering the words "My bad" must go down in history as one of the worst moments in movie history. Actually scratch that - the "lubricating" scene is definitely worse. The writing of human characters is lazy at best, sticking with stereotypes such as the beautiful code-breaker, fat computer whizz, bumbling government agent etc etc. The performances (Shia aside) are instantly forgettable, but a great deal of that comes down to the script and direction. Megan Fox may be a great actress for all I know, but she may as well be a stripper for the purposes of this movie.
The effects are incredible (although not helped by Bay's erratic editing style), but when you've no reason to care about them it results in an empty experience. Effects DON'T MAKE A MOVIE.
With Spielberg as part of this project I allowed myself a little optimism, but it's patently clear that Bay and Co. had no understanding or respect for the Transformers franchise. GIANT "FLIPPING" ROBOTS BLOWING "STUFF" UP this may be, but it is most certainly not Transformers.

A Review of The Movie “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”
“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” which occupies around 25 pages in the collected works of F. Scott Fitzgerald, is a slender piece of whimsy, a charming fantasy about a man who ages in reverse, descending through the years from newborn senescence to terminal infancy. As Fitzgerald unravels it, Benjamin’s story serves as the pretext for some amusing, fairly superficial observations about child rearing, undergraate behavior and courtship in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
From this odd, somewhat unpromising kernel, the director David Fincher and the screenwriter have cultivated a lush, romantic hothouse bloom, a film that shares only a title and a basic premise with its literary source. “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” more than two and a half hours long, sighs with longing and simmers with intrigue while investigating the philosophical conundrums and emotional paradoxes of its protagonist’s condition in a spirit that owes more to Jorge Luis Borges than to Fitzgerald.
While the film’s plot progresses, with a few divagations, in a straight line through the decades of Benjamin Button’s life, the backward vector of that biography turns this “Curious Case” into a genuine mystery. And the puzzles it invites us to contemplate — in consistently interesting, if not always dramatically satisfying ways — are deep and imposing, concerning the passage of time, the elusiveness of experience and the Janus-faced nature of love.
The inner life of Benjamin Button, abandoned at birth by his stricken father (Jason Flemyng) and raised by the infinitely kind caretaker of a nursing home (Taraji P. Henson), is harder to grasp than his outer appearance, in part because Mr. Pitt seems more interested in the nuances of reticence than in the dynamics of expression. It’s true that Benjamin’s condition imposes a certain detachment: he is at once innocent and ancient, almost never who he appears to be.
But even though Mr. Pitt’s coolness is a perfectly defensible approach to this character, his elusiveness, from one film to the next, is starting to look more defensive than daring. His recent performances have been devoted mainly to the study of his own magnetism, a quality he earnestly explores in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” and playfully subverts in “Burn After Reading.” It goes without saying that Mr. Pitt has charisma to burn, and he is a capable and inventive actor, but he will only be a great one if he risks breaking himself open on screen as he did, briefly, in “Babel.”
And so, while Benjamin’s progress through life drives the narrative of “The Curious Case,” he is (as the title suggests) more an object of contemplation than a flesh-and-blood (or bit-and-byte) candidate for our empathy. His jaunt through the 20th century is certainly fun to watch, with an episodic rhythm that recalls old movie serials or, even more, the endlessly dilated adventures of newspaper comic-strip heroes. After some initiation into the pleasures of the flesh and the bottle in the city of his birth, Young Button (Old Button) hires onto a tramp steamer. He tarries a while in Russia, sampling caviar and altery (with a superbly soignée Tilda Swinton) before World War II intrudes.
Later there will be sailboats and motorcycles as the ambient light turns gold along with Mr. Pitt’s hair. There will not be much in the way of big events or public happenings — Benjamin Button is, finally, no Forrest Gump — and though he is a white Southerner raised by a black woman, he seems untouched by racial turmoil or by much of anything beyond the mysteries of his peculiar destiny.
But the movie’s emotional center of gravity — the character who struggles and changes and feels — is Daisy, played by Ms. Blanchett from impetuous ingénue to near ghost with an almost otherworldly mixture of hauteur and heat. The story of Benjamin’s life is read to Daisy by her daughter (Julia Ormond) in a New Orleans hospital room in 2005, just as Hurricane Katrina is approaching the city. The imminence of the storm is a superfluous and unly portentous device, since Katrina brings to mind precisely the hard, real-life miseries the movie has done everything in its power to avoid.
That power, though, is something to be reckoned with, and it resides in Mr. Fincher’s ability to use his unbelievable skills to turn an incredible conceit into a plausible love story. The romance between Daisy and Benjamin begins when both are chronologically pre-adolescents and Benjamin is, physically, a codger, but the initial element of pedophilic creepiness in the relationship gives way to other forms of awkwardness. Their love is uniquely perfect and enring. At the same time, like any other love — like any movie — it is shadowed by disappointment and fated to end. In the case of “Benjamin Button,” I was sorry when it was over and happy to have seen it.
Written by David Franzoni (Gladiator) and directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), this film abandons all premonitions of what Arthur was and what he is in all our memories. They do keep some of the same, more recognizable, legends of the king. The Round Table makes an appearance but is not nearly held with as high regard as in previous legends. Also, Excalibur still sits on the hip of Arthur. But there's a different twist here. Where in other legends, Arthur was the son of a poor man who pulled the sword Excalibur from its stone, therefore establishing Divine Right for King of England; here Excalibur is his father's sword. His father is killed in battle and the young Arthur pulls the sword from his father's dead body and carries the sword since. Fuqua decides to use the same imagery as if Arthur was pulling the sword out of a stone but just the idea that Excalibur was pulled from his father's body and he has carried it ever since, establishes a little more depth to the story. And that's where most of the similarities stop. This story is based on historical finds that have been discovered recently that have not been established in other Arthurian literature or film works. Arthur is a Roman that has to serve out his ty to the Roman Empire until he realizes he is fighting for a Rome that is too idealistic to exist. Lancelot is an amazingly gifted warrior who was recruited from a young age to join the conquering Roman army to serve for 15 years. He has more of a friendship with Arthur than a king/knight relationship. Guinevere is not a princess from the neighboring France but an English born slave who is discovered and rescued by Arthur's knights. And Merlin normally considered the lovable magician is more of a rebel ghost who leads a rag tag group of English fighting the Roman Empire. So no, this is not your typical 'Arthur' movie.
But what truly surprised me were not the entirely new interpretations but how well every aspect of the film was done. The cinematography was unbelievable. Most of the shots look like they could have been taken start from artist renderings of Arthurian literature. Breathtaking establishing shots of the snowy English landscape transport you back into 400 AD where nature was virtually untouched and made you wish you could visit this country on holiday. The script for the film was done very well also. There weren't those blockbuster, crappy lines that one would expect from a Bruckheimer film. There wasn't even the one liner, 'Braveheart-like' war anthem when going into battle but a very stirring speech from Clive Owen (Arthur) that made you think 'They better kick some Saxon ass.' And it was funny. Not in the modern way either but they took humor and situations from that era and made it funny to today's audience, a true accomplishment.
But there are two things that make a blockbuster, period piece like this work…the battle scenes and the acting. First off, the acting was very impressive. Fuqua casted relatively unknown actors, besides Owen and Keira Knightly, to play the other pivotal parts in the film. None of the performances seemed forced and all appear to become their characters which was probably easier because they did not have to play the well known characters. These were all new interpretations of Arthur and his knights, allowing them to play the characters as they see fit. Who was impressive though was Knightly. Although I am a fan, I was even more impressed with the way she handled the role of Guinevere. Guinevere is no longer a princess who watches from the background but a warrior of Merlin who contributes greatly to the battles. Not many young, very young (19), actress today can pull off a role where you have to be a gorgeous potential Queen one minute and then a brutal warrior the next. And it was these battle scenes that made the film stand out just that much more. You have to appreciate it when directors and writers try to find new and innovative ways to have a battle scene that isn't two giant armies running at one another, swinging large weapons. 'Arthur' is one of those movies that made you believe these were how battles of that time should have been fought. And they were fun to watch.
All in all, 'King Arthur' amazed me. Very rarely to I walk into a film with such high expectations that they would never be filled. Yea, 'Arthur' surpassed everything I ever imagined.

看了《虎门销烟》后,学生认为无法联系实际,我就这样启发学生:你看后印象最深的是哪个镜头?有的说林则徐带领官兵虎门销烟的镜头,大展中国人的志气;有的说,当时的清朝政府的腐败无能给我教育最深;
什么东西给现今人们带来精神和身体摧残?我们应该如何对待?这样,学生马上想到了电视上披露有的海关把关不严,让一些走私物品进入中国,有的想到了社会上的吸毒现象和不健康的游乐场所,同学们畅所欲语,仿佛一下子有话可写了;

This film is based on a true story 。 That happened in Japan in 1935。So I was moved by the spirit of Hachi!
No one has the ability to show his love to only one person ring his whole life, let alone make friends with only one person; have the food that never changes year by year; do the same damn thing without plaining and consciousness of exhaustion。 We can’t! However, what we could learn from Hachi is that we should never forget the one we once loved。
In fact , some research and statistics prove that pets are more sensitive in human’s diseases than we do。 Hachi fetched that ball because he knew that his master would die because of his heart disease。 It’s his only way to hold him back 。 Hachi has been waiting in the weeds, waiting for his only fellow to walk him home。 His hope has been floating in the breeze, carrying his loneliness and misery all above the ground。 Maybe professor knows, but he could never e back。

Ice Age
It’s not particularly surprising to be disappointed by any puter-animated film not bearing the Pixar logo。 In fact, until Shrek, 2001’s rollicking success, I wouldn’t have even believed it could happen。 What is surprising, is that Ice Age doesn’t even ATTEMPT to reach Pixar’s Toy Story heights, apparently content to revel in its status as Monster’s, Inc。's second rate, half wit cousin。 Ice Age is yet another “extinction for kids” movie, one of many in a long line of baby dinosaurs, pterodactyl eggs, and sympathetic cavemen。 This time, it’s the ice age, and wooly mammoths roam the earth alongside primitive man。 Strangely enough, in this early world, animals can talk, and humans cannot。 But when a group of would-be-enemies discover a lost human baby, wooly mammoth (Ray Romano), saber-toothed tiger (Dennis Leary), and giant sloth (John Leguizamo) must work along side each other in a journey to return the child to its home。
Visually, Ice Age is perhaps the poorest bit of CGI I have ever seen。
Contrasted to the beautiful constructs of Monsters, Inc。; or even the gooey, gloppy creativity of Shrek; Ice Age is nothing but badly rendered polygons and Acme animated characters。 No hint of photo-realism here。 It’s like paring a Bugs Bunny Cartoon to The Lion King。 Actually, I suspect that is exactly what the folks at Ice Age were going for。
Ice Age is really little more than a collection of silly animal gags and
Leguizamo one liners。 Some of them are even quite funny。 If that is all that we’re going for here, then I suppose I’m all for it。 But then there are these strange attempts at gut wrenching sappiness, which fall painfully flat amidst sub-video game animation。 Frankly, I’m not even sure the CGI they use here is up to the task of displaying the kinds of emotions these people are trying to illicit from their characters。 The humans more closely resemble totem poles than they do living, breathing, creatures。 It’s laughable watching their
polygon-limited faces trying to emote in response to the story’s attempts at heartfelt, soft touches。
Thankfully, the main characters are animals, which are at least bearably rendered to slapstick fun levels。 As a result, what slapstick there is, is highly entertaining。 Sure, Ray Romano’s vocal talents aren’t particularly spectacular。 But Dennis Leary and the always-odd John Leguizamo cover for his mammoth ineptitude without hesitation。
The story itself is bland, boring, and uninspired, as is the almost laughably bad animation。 The film’s only real saving graces are some slapstick side trips into the world of an unlucky squirrel and a group of soon-to-be-extinct
melon-hoarding dodos。 Ice Age’s edy is worthy of Bugs, but unless you’re under 5, you’ll be bored with everything else。

This is a can't-miss family movie。 After all, EVERYONE seems to like inspiring family films--especially when it's based on real people。 And, not surprisingly, I had a thoroughly good time watching it--though I do remend you see it with a box of Kleenex nearby。
The film is about a young man named Michael Oher--an extremely large black teenager who has bounced from home to home in the foster care system。 Currently, he's in a new school and no one realizes that he has no place to live。 Yet in spite of having a crack-addicted mother, a father who was killed in prison and every other reason to be an angry powder keg, he's a very gentle and sad soul---who is also enormous and has amazing potential to play football。
A nosy but very nice lady (Sandra Bullock) convinces her husband (Tim McGraw) to bring Michael home。。。at least for the night。 But this one night turns into a permanent living situation and he bees an important part of the family。 However, despite this new living arrangement working out well, Michael is so far behind in school and his GPA so low that he hasn't a prayer to play football in college。 That's because although many schools are now offering him athletic scholarships, his GPA is too low to allow him to accept these offers。 So, with his new family's help, perhaps he can pull up those grades and have a future。
This film is super-inspirational and sweet--mostly because it's true。 I am sure that some poetic license was taken when making the film (I especially wonder if the little brother could be THIS precocious and adorable), but overall they did a good job of sticking reasonably close the facts。 While I loved Sandra Bullock's performance (she's great as usual), I was a bit surprised that she received Oscar for it--I did see a few performances in other films that year that I thought were a bit better (such as the leading young lady in "Precious")。 Also, Tim McGraw, while a lesser role in the film, did a surprisingly good job--especially as he's really known as a country singer, not an actor。 All around, a very good film and one that is meant to inspire。
Hero is a film that can impress everyone who has seen it。 It
narrates a funny and simple story, but leaves us a lot of thinking
behind。 It explains the definition of hero in a new and creative
way。
The leading role Bernie Lapland was played by the famous
American edian Dustin Hoffman。 He is an ordinary but
unfortunate person who has previous convictions, mon
looking, lawsuit around and a tough ex-wife。 He is even not
liked by his judge who has only met his once。 Sometimes, he is
selfish and rude, but when facing his son, he returns to a
fatherly and attentive father like everyone else。 He happened to
encounter a plane crash at a rainy night, and rescued 54
passengers from the burning plane out of human nature。 He
grasped the chance to act as a hero, but what is dramatic is that
he missed the opportunity to claim the honor。 Meanwhile, a
vagrant called Bobber subsequently steps forward and got the
reward es with the worship from all the citizens。 Lapland
was still regarded as a poor man in jail, not being able to
achieve any kinds of success after doing such a big favor to the passengers。 While, Bobber started to show up in front of public under the glory of being a hero and set out to philanthropy。 He inspired people’s goodness and confidence in life, brought hope to the hopeless and homeless, he has done what a hero should do。 Finally, Bobber came to an agreement with the real hero Lapland, for not breaking people’s belief which had just set up by the man-made hero。
The whole story leads me to think of the definition of hero。 What is hero? Who is a hero? How should heroes behave? Actually, hero is just an ordinary person。 What makes him a hero is that he throws himself into breach when faced with danger, regardless of his own safety。 Then, an ordinary man changed in to a big hero。 It seems that he is so extraordinary among us, but in fact, he is just one of us。 We all can be the hero if we have the chance。 It is a symbol of the goodness indwells in our nature character。 When we put the word hero into the background of 21st century, its eternal aureole seems to fade。 We don’t need a hero to save the whole world any more, and we no longer wait for a hero to rescue our life。 We live in peace and harmony, and hero walks away from our life at the same time。 At the same time, when our country’s interest
meets danger or some one’s life is in risks, heroes who used to be pipsqueaks will rush out and break into our eyes。 The heroes who have made such great salvation can be everyone, they maybe our neighbors, our relatives, our friends or even someone we don’t know。 They are different from the bygone heroes who usually appear in front of every trouble, who can be read on text books, who used to be arranged at the frontier line of any kinds of danger。 Heroes now are mon people, but show up great courage and ability to bonder the responsibility to protect human lives and the peace of the world。 Heroes are just the ones e our boldly when somebody else are in jeopardy。
We all have the potential to be a hero, may be the only thing we need is the right opportunity。 Heroes are hidden in every corner of our society; they do their job silently and stay far from the media, they will never declare who they are and what they have done to public。 But, we cannot deny that they are real heroes。

范文:
Elephant Man (John HUTT) is a natural deformity patient. His face looks like an elephant's face, so it is named.
Elephant man has been used by the circus owner who is obsessed with profit. He has been taken to tour all over the world and has been subjected to inhuman abuse.
Celebrities will feel incredible what elephant people have experienced, but the optimistic and strong elephant people bear it.
Until once, the elephant man met a young British doctor (Anthony Hopkins). Out of compassion and the doctor's integrity, he signed an "adoption" agreement with the circus owner bass (Freddie Jones) and took the elephant man back to the hospital for research.

The film stars a panda named Po (voice of Jack Black), who is so fat he can barely get out of bed. He works for his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong) in a noodle shop, which features Ping's legendary Secret Ingredient. How Ping, apparently a stork or other billed member of the avian family, fathered a panda is a mystery, not least to Po, but then the movie is filled with a wide variety of creatures who don't much seem to notice their differences.
They live in the beautiful Valley of Peace with an ancient temple towering overhead, up zillions of steps, which the pudgy Po can barely climb. But climb them he does, dragging a noodle wagon, because all the people of the valley have gathered up there to witnethe choosing of the Dragon Warrior, who will engage the dreaded Tai Lung (Ian McShane) in kung-fu combat. Five contenders have been selected, the "Furious Five": Monkey (Jackie Chan), Tigre(Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross). Tigrelooks like she might be able to do some serious damage, but the others are lethan impressive. Mantis in particular seems to weigh about an ounce, tops. All five have been trained (for nearly forever, I gather) by the wise Shifu, who with Dustin Hoffman's voice is one of the more dimensional characters in a story that doesn't give the others a lot of depth. Anyway, it's up to the temple master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim), an ancient turtle, to make the final selection, and he chooses -- yes, he chooses the hapleand pudgy Po.
The story then becomes essentially a series of action sequences, somewhat undermined by the fact that the combatants seem unable to be hurt, even if they fall from dizzying heights and crack stones open with their heads. There's an extended combat with Tai Lung on a disintegrating suspension bridge (haven't we seen that before?), hand-to-hand-to-tail combat with Po and Tai Lung, and upstaging everything, an energetic competition over a single mpling.
"Kung Fu Panda" is not one of the great recent animated films. The story is way too predictable, and truth to tell, Po himself didn't overwhelm me with his charisma But it's elegantly drawn, the action sequences are packed with energy, and it's short enough that older viewers will be forgiving. For the kids, of course, all this stuff is much of a muchness, and here they go again.
