A heroic coming-of-age story which follows the epic adventures of a young lion cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of althood and his destined role as king of the jungle. As a carefree cub, he is both excited and anxious to become king, one day, and spends his days frolicking with his pal, Nala. His father, King Mufasa, the revered ruler of Pride Rock and the lands that surround it, teaches him about the "Circle of Life"--the delicate balance of nature which bonds all animals together; Simba's father cautions him to prepare for the day when he will be called upon to lead. Mufasa's evil brother, Scar, hopes that day will never arrive and schemes to do away with the king and Simba so that he can assume the throne for his own tyrannical purposes. A frightened and guilt-ridden Simba flees into exile where he is befriended by a wacky but warmhearted warthog named Pumbaa and his free-wheeling meerkat companion, Timon. Under the bious guidance of this nature's odd couple, Simba adopts their "Hakuna Matata" (no worries) attitude towards life--taking things one day at a time. The cub matures into a young alt and is able to forget his past until a beautiful young lioness--who turns out to be his childhood friend Nala--arrives on the scene. She tells him of the hard times and suffering that have come to the Pride Lands under Scar's reign, and beseeches him to take his place as king. With the help of Rafiki, a wise shaman baboon, Simba realizes that his father's spirit lives on in him and that he must accept the responsibility of his destined role.

Ah..."The Lion King." There's so much I can say about this movie but all my comments always come down to one thing: this movie is beautiful. Pure genius. A timeless story. I might be a little biased in my beliefs, seeing as the first movie I remember seeing in theatres is "The Lion King" and I still watch it on a regular basis and know all the words but I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who agree with what I have to say. "The Lion King" is beautiful; hands down, it is the best Disney film ever created.
The story is something that everyone can relate to, whether they are a lion ;) or not. Simba is destined to become king one day and just can't wait to rule the throne; everyone can relate to wanting to grow up and become an alt, to do whatever they want and not have to worry about anything. His father tries to teach him that, despite the fact that he will one day be grown and king, his life will not be easy. Simba has to learn his lesson the hard way when his Uncle Scar, who, too, wants the throne, kills his father and convinces Simba that it was his fault. Suddenly, growing up doesn't seem so great anymore (I can *really* relate to that).
And so, Simba flees his home and comes across Timon and Pumbaa, two other outcasts. They teach Simba the "Hakuna Matata" lifestyle, something that idealizes a life free of stress, worry and responsibility. Now, don't we all wish we could live this way? No worries for the rest of our days... But when Simba's childhood friend Nala returns, he realizes that he can't live Hakuna Matata forever, for he does have a responsibility to his pride and his homeland. Simba understands that he must grow up, as we all do, and does what's right.
The songs are catchy and fit the movie well (the original songs, of course, though "The Morning Report" isn't too bad) and the score is haunting and beautiful. Along with the art work, the music captures the heart of Africa.
With the types of shows that children watch these days (boy, doesn't that make me sound old?), it's a wonder they'll learn in virtues and values at all. "The Lion King" is a great teacher when it comes to learning lessons that will carry throughout their lifetime. "The Lion King" teaches children that it's all right to be a kid but you must understand and accept responsibility for things you can and cannot control. Everyone has a place in The Circle of Life and we must find it; the film also teaches that we will encounter bad and even terrible things ring our lifetime but we must accept them and move on. These are important, meaningful lessons; heck, I even used them in my SAT essay! "The Lion King" is a film for every generation and is a powerful film that all children should see. I'm past my childhood now and I still watch it whenever I get the chance; I look forward to sharing it with my children.

音乐一下子带领我回到了近十年前，那个时候这部
经典的动画片吸引住了多少儿童的心。长颈鹿、斑
马、豹子等各种飞禽走兽营造了一个广阔草原上的
动物世界，而大象、犀牛更是缓缓从观众席中走上
舞台，场内顿时掌声雷动。
熟悉的狒狒巫师拉飞奇改为了黑人女性扮
演，但是她嘹亮的嗓音完全胜任了这个非洲草原巫
师的角色。各种动物也都由人来掌控，但是形态动
作却完全酷似动物本身的行为，实在是赞叹这些演
员功力之深厚。多嘴的马屁精犀鸟沙祖和活泼可爱
的小狮子辛巴常常引来观众的阵阵笑声，小辛巴和
小娜娜骑在鸵鸟上合唱的《等我长大来当王》
（《IJustCan'tWaitToBeKing》）显示了
小狮子的活泼天真可爱。威严的狮子王木法沙有着

极为喜欢的，类似《悲惨世界》里沙威警官的富有

快了起来。可惜的是我期待了半天的成年辛巴，一
直觉得辛巴的嗓音应该更嘹亮更富有戏剧性，就算
不能赛过MichaelBall起码也应该和JoshGroban
这样的嗓音并驾齐驱。但是辛巴稚嫩的嗓音却一直
让我觉得是流行乐歌手在唱音乐剧。他和娜娜一同
唱响的经典爱情之歌《今夜感觉我的爱》（《Can
YouFeelTheLoveTonight》）也失去了很多
浪漫的韵味和澎湃的激情，而且歌词和Elton
John所写的原歌也有所不同，没有达到我预想的
效果，失望了很多。不过此时的场景和空中、台上
的一对对舞者却为此歌的浪漫气氛增色不少，如果
此时是情侣一起观看，肯定心中甜蜜无限。虽
然觉得大剧院的场地还不够大，如果场地再大点的
话可以有更多演员参与，场面肯定更加震撼壮观，
而且今天的长笛在独奏的时候几次吹破，高音不
准，也顿时令原本很有气氛的音乐剧有了几次瑕
疵。不过还不至于影响整体效果。
这次《狮子王》的场景设置和道具制作，还
有舞美等方面的确超越了《剧院魅影》很多。由于
《狮子王》原本是一部动画片，所以就需要场景不
停的变化以符合原本动画片中出现的情景，这在一
个小小的舞台上是很难实现的。几次我难以想象下
一个场景剧组会怎样表现的时候，出现的结果往往
是出乎我的意料，令我折服。比如，狮子王木法沙
被数以百计如洪水般奔涌的角马群所追赶的场景；
成年辛巴在水池边看到风云翻滚的星空中出现已过
世的木法沙的影像；都令我怀疑他们能不能造就重
现动画片中的情景和画面。但是剧组巧妙的手法和
美轮美奂的场景道具都令我叹为观止。
更有意思的是，百老汇的剧组人员在来到
中国之后，果然加进了很多我们中国当地的元素，
令观众都能会心一笑。比如拉飞奇在说了一堆非洲
土语之后回头用中文问观众：你们明白吗？；犀鸟
沙祖在舞台上降下一块很大的花色幕布之后说道：
这个不是从襄阳市场买来的浴帘吗？；沙祖在被刀
疤关在鸟笼里，刀疤要他唱歌取乐的时候，他用中
文唱起了《老鼠爱大米》（很奇怪，为什么我认识
的好几个老外都会用中文唱这首歌？？？）
还有一个很奇妙的部分。所有狮子和王室成
员、部下说的都是英英；而辛巴的好朋友疣猪彭彭
和猫鼬丁满说的是一口普通的美音，土狼说的却是
美国街头黑人的英文。难道这些我们生活中的语言
差别也暗示着动物世界的等级差别？呵呵，反正是
很有意味的一个设计。
狮子王的赏析二
很小的时候看过《狮子王》，那个时候，喜欢辛巴，因为它的活泼，可爱，因为它的勇敢，因为它实在是很调皮，因为辛巴有太多属于它自己的个性，羡慕辛巴生长在那样一片美丽的大草原上，童年的时候，大都是喜欢辛巴的吧。
长大了，开始看电影版的《狮子王》，此时的感受，已不同于小时候，虽然还是很喜欢辛巴，虽然还是很羡慕辛巴的生长环境，这个时候，已经从一个更深的更宽广的意义上看待这部动画片。
看到辛巴出生的时候，心里充满了喜悦，一个生命诞生了，生命是一件多莫不可思议的事，伴随着画面上辛巴的父母的喜悦，所有狮子王国里动物的喜悦，我的心里也充满了感动得喜悦，所有的人，都该为这一刻欢呼吧。
辛巴渐渐长大了，小时候的感受渐渐在脑中清晰起来，辛巴总是那样调皮，会惹出那末多的麻烦，这个时候，是它的父亲用爱和生命拯救了它，真的很不愿意回忆木法沙惨死的画面，在那一刻，所有木法沙对辛巴的教育，指导，所有的一个父亲应该对子女所做的一切，所有它付出的爱和努力，都在脑海中浮现，这个时候，我的印象开始发生转变，我突然发现了父爱的伟大，我崇拜木法沙，虽然还是很喜欢辛巴，但此时的自己，已经深深体会了木法沙对辛巴的爱，当自己为这份爱感动的一塌糊涂，也更加明白了自己的父母对自己的爱。当为一份爱付出生命，是一件多莫伟大多莫了不起的事情，这样的木法沙，拥有足够的资格来承担世人对它的尊敬和崇拜。
没有了父亲，自己的王国被侵占，自己被赶出来，无法回到自己的亲人身边，而自己的亲人也以为辛巴已经不在世界上，这是何其残酷的事实，辛巴的经历，真得让人感到一种无奈的辛酸。或许，辛巴曾经颓废，曾经想不再回到自己的家乡，曾经想就这样无忧无虑的跟着蓬蓬和丁满过开心的日子，但是它毕竟是木法沙的儿子，木法沙所具有的高尚品质，完全可以体现在辛巴身上体现出来，他还是勇敢的打败了刀疤，成为了狮子王，继承了木法沙。这样的辛巴，也有足够的资格成为这片大草原上新的国王。
