1.Jane Austen's tale of love and economics reaches us once more with the energy of a thorough novelty. "Pride and Prejudice" has been a favorite novel of mine since I first read it and I've seen Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson, Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle and now Matthew MacFadyen and Kiera Knightly. Amazingly enough I've never been disappointed. The material seems to be full proof. Colin Firth's Darcy, in many ways, is the Darcy I've always imagined. He's been an actor I've followed feverishly since his glorious Adrian LeDuc in "Apartment Zero", Matthew MacFadyen was totally new to me but he managed to create that sense of longing that makes that final pay off so satisfying. Kiera Knightly is a ravishing revelation. I must confess, I didn't remotely imagined that she was capable of the powerful range she brilliantly shows here. The other big surprise is Joe Wright, the director, in his feature film debut which is more than promising, it's extraordinary. The photography, the art direction and the spectacular supporting cast, in particular Donald Sutherland and Brenda Blethyn, makes this new version of a perennial classic a memorable evening at the movies
2.Pride and Prejudice was an absolutely fantastic film. A great cast, and Keira Knightly did an excellent job and Matthew Macfadyen was a wonderful in the role of Mr Darcy. The cinematography was so ridiculously good, there were some fantastic shots and the costumes were also fantastic. The script was fairly good, it is true to the classic by Jane Austen, Mr Wickam could have made more of an appearance, and had a striking resemblance to one Orlando Bloom. The movie moved fairly fast but trying to fit such a novel into two hours had to be hard anyway, so I say well done to all involved, as such a beloved book can be a hard project to take on, but after watching it I really can't wait until to see it again!!!

Recently, I read through “Pride and Prejudice” which written by a well-known English writer----Jane Austen.
Austen was born in the countryside, so she didn’t go to any normal schools. But she really read widely instructed by her father who was the local parson.
During that period of time, Austen was regarded as the first author to realistically describe the common characters in common life. Her works, to some extent, reflect the comedy in the middle-class of England and also got rid of the fixed tradition in the 18th century by analyzing the personalities of the characters artfully.
“It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife.” With these lines, a classical novel about the value of the love begins.
This writing pictures four marriages in Bennet’s family, and the primary one was between Elizabeth and Darcy.
Darcy who was a single man of a large fortune fell in love with Elizabeth after only a transitory intercourse. And later on, Darcy proposed to her with regardlessness to the gap of the wealth and class. But Elizabeth unmercifully refused him by misunderstanding his represented extreme pride which was just a reflection of the high-class. After a long-term observation of his behaviors, Elizabeth was finally loyal to her own heart.
“Pride and prejudice” was superficially a love comedy. But it actually explained that only by action and introspection can have the hope and the true love; and also the dignity of a person which was as well built up by action and introspection was not inherent.
Just as Austen herself said, this novel was sculpted on the two-inch ivory, which exquisitely reflects the conservative life in England of these days.
This writing, to some extent, expresses the author’s marriage view: It is wrong to get married for the property, money and position as well; and also it is foolish if you do not consider the above-mentioned factures. So she objected to getting married for money as well as regarding it as something unimportant. She emphasized the importance of the ideal marriage and regarded the true love as its foundation stone.
Pride and prejudice were two weaknesses in our humanity which was easily distorted. And in the way of pursuing love, we should not be controlled by these shortages, but to keep our own faiths and feelings.
Whether the marriage is a happiness one depended on whether they truly love and know each other. Falling in love at first sight is indeed more romantic than the long-term love. But we can not deny the fact the long-term coexistence will surely bring both of you to a better understanding and a deeper affection.

MISS AUSTEN never attempts to describe a scene or a class of society with which she was not herself thoroughly acquainted. The conversations of ladies with ladies, or of ladies and gentlemen together, are given, but no instance occurs of a scene in which men only are present. The uniform quality of her work is one most remarkable point to be observed in it. Let a volume be opened at any place: there is the same good English, the same refined style, the same simplicity and truth. There is never any deviation into the unnatural or exaggerated; and how worthy of all love and respect is the finely disciplined genius which rejects the forcible but transient modes of stimulating interest which can so easily be employed when desired, and which knows how to trust to the never-failing principles of human nature! This very trust has sometimes been made an objection to Miss Austen, and she has been accused of writing ll stories about ordinary people. But her supposed ordinary people are really not such very ordinary people. Let anyone who is inclined to criticise on this score endeavor to construct one character from among the ordinary people of his own acquaintance that shall be capable of interesting any reader for ten minutes. It will then be found how great has been the discrimination of Miss Austen in the selection of her characters, and how skillful is her treatment in the management of them. It is true that the events are for the most part those of daily life, and the feelings are those connected with the usual joys and griefs of familiar existence; but these are the very events and feelings upon which the happiness or misery of most of us depends; and the field which embraces them, to the exclusion of the wonderful, the sentimental, and the historical, is surely large enough, as it certainly admits of the most profitable cultivation. In the end, too, the novel of daily real life is that of which we are least apt to weary: a round of fancy balls would tire the most vigorous admirers of variety in costume, and the return to plain clothes would be hailed with greater delight than their occasional relinquishment ever gives. Miss Austen's personages are always in plain clothes, but no two suits are alike: all are worn with their appropriate differen AS we should expect from such a life, Jane Austen's view of the world is genial, kindly, and, we repeat, free from anything like cynicism. It is that of a clear-sighted and somewhat satirical onlooker, loving what deserves love, and amusing herself with the foibles, the self-deceptions, the affectations of humanity. Refined almost to fastidiousness, she is hard upon vulgarity; not, however, on good-natured vulgarity, such as that of Mrs. Jennings in "Sense and Sensibility," but on vulgarity like that of Miss Steele, in the same novel, combined at once with effrontery and with meanness of soul
Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre. But my first impression of this story was from screen.
It's long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I don't remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. It's pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine, though I didn't think she's beautiful. But she's smart. However, I didn't pay much attention to the plot. I thought it's so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I haven't read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice.
In fact, I didn't understand the story at that time. I didn't know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn't find where' s the prejudice. I thought it's normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I'm a prejudiced person so I can't find where's wrong. I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody or something,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time. I like it so just like it, if not so just not. I'm a person thinking by heart not by brain. What is worse, I actually didn't think it's wrong. I thought everyone is all like that.Everyone has his special way to cognize the world. So it's indiviality, not prejudice. But I think something is wrong. Though everyone can judge in the way he likes, he can't ignore other ones. You can like what you like and hate what you hate, but you should be objective when you meet external world. I think it means that you should consider things roundly, not just partial. Indiviality is different from prejudice. What is it? I need to think more.
In fact, this book has been in contact with the first, but then the story of a very complex patient did not read a few chapters there will be no interest, has been set aside until today to pick up again. But when they look at the beginning of chapters still feel very boring, it understood only in here for the scene after the ambush pen. Blink of an eye, more than three chapter is over, and people's character is also very clear that it was a portrait of the author. This book seems to be only two kinds of people: the wise and foolish, there is no absolute good or bad, except perhaps Wickham liar. He used his clever flattery, as well as the ability to pay a "pleasing" the instrument, fascinated Elizabeth, kept for their own grievances washing, Darcy slander. He's funny, so full of flaws, and Elizabeth Congmingguoren are able to mesh with Bin Miss rebuttal, and Lady Catherine contradict, but still led by the nose by Wickham. To be honest, I do not think he cheated Elizabeth is a "fool." Always first, Mr. arrogant, disrespectful way well into Elizabeth's mind, but also on how good opinion of him? The comments of other people, how can easily turn a deaf ear? Have a prejudice against Darcy is normal. I am talking about other people is a natural means of Xiangmaotangtang the Wickham. There is no denying that Wickham with a long handsome face, is also installed on the surface very "gentleman." Although "The human cannot the facial expression ", "know the human to know the surface not to be intimate" Even I can say that living in the twenty-first century, so as to the identity of the spectator to see the story, Wickham still have a good opinion, how can we complain Elizabeth This is a life of the times in the last girl?
The book is closed, taste carefully about it, just found the whole novel, was attractive because it is completely relaxed style of humor. Elizabeth laughed at the irony is that those self-gentleman, the aristocratic lady stood thoroughly exposed. The father of Elizabeth Bennet, even ridiculed by his wife and daughter for the family to be happy, fortunate Kenya? Unfortunately, Kenya?
The famous novel "love life" was a sensation in Europe and America, and has been praised Lenin. Works to show the nature of the strong, brave and adventurous spirit of romance, "To Live" strong will to attract me deeply, is excited about reading. This novel, by Jack London with great artistic strength to calm a soul-stirring account of the life and death struggle of the story, showing how to love life to help overcome the death of a person; Despite the Cross, the sick, exhausted, still in In the struggle to keep up with bare hands in the back of a uniform E Lang, and the world of ice and snow through the wilderness struggling to come to the beach, was finally rescued by a whaler.
The tragic story, vividly demonstrates the great human and strong. Full display of the depths of human nature Moments, and vivid descriptions of a life's tenacity and strong, struck up a tenacious hymn to life, the spirits can be described as awesome.
Life itself contains enormous potential energy. Sometimes life is very fragile moment, it may come to naught; life, but sometimes unusual strong, so strong was amazing. This allows you to power in the face no matter what, even if you swallow is the wild, wild animals, or hunger, disease, and will support you bravely overcome it. And behind the scenes support life, the energy is no doubt that conviction. As long as the hearts of survival is also the belief that they do not easily give up their lives, and then the embarrassing situation of Juechufengsheng also. On the other hand, love life, it is necessary to have faith, be pursued. When people have no faith, not the pursuit of life will become a full body, and what has been a dead? ! .
In real life, it was untimely for the lament, a dream life, some people really do not intend to complain alive, but some people say life is painful and boring; not so in the belief that the instigation of life, what we see is too many The life of emptiness and boredom, too much of the game of life, decadence and depressed too much, as well as bored to death ... .... The other day to see a report that China's current annual suicide cases in the most rural areas, and the pesticide is the culprit; It also reflects the number from the side of China's rural population is currently the overall quality of the city relative to be further enhanced. Encounter live or work in some of the difficulties small and not try to overcome resolved, but "anger", the bigger things, the event will be much Xunsimihuo. This novel of the same character to overcome obstacles, compared to the courage to survive difficult it is different. May be a lot of you have seen the show or people with Games for the Disabled, which the Warriors Shencanjian are difficult to overcome various difficulties and even torture, made even healthy people find it hard to complete the task. They are the love of life, difficulties with the courage to fight against a model.
Jack London's "love life" has given us a profound lesson: In order to achieve a life goal, it is necessary to life with all difficulties and obstacles on the road to do the life-and-death struggle, and daring to win. In the face of life and work of the difficulties and even life-threatening, we can not sit still; resistance only, Apart from the victory because we have no choice! This novel's main character in the face of many difficulties and obstacles, want to give up life and death choice is no longer easy, but he did not die willingly, he chose to fight. As a result, life must be pursued, it is necessary to live a very dynamic game, career achievements, we must learn to live in strong and learn to fight, so that we can live up to the life of the great trust in order to be worthy of life itself.
, Is in the nature of the small, too small all over the floor as the grassland. But the tiny "person" because of the tenacity of life and conviction walked from time immemorial, has created a colorful civilization and wealth.
Let us never embrace of the great, tenacious of life; let Evergreen Tree of Life!
Elizabeth Bennet (Keira Knightley) and her sister Jane Bennet (Rosamand Parker), sister Mary Bennet (Dalula Lely), Katie Bennet (Kerry Mulligan) and Lydia Bennet (Gina Malone) are all sisters from small landlord families. Mrs. Bennet's greatest goal in life is to find the right man for all five of her daughters. Unfortunately, the second daughter, Elizabeth, can always find out 100 reasons for refusing to marry her mother.
When Mrs. Bennet heard that the neighbouring manor was rented by a wealthy bachelor and would come to spend the summer with his distinguished friends, she excitedly decided that it was a blessing for her daughters. The suitor was on the verge of coming, and things were going as she had expected.
The monotonous and slightly quiet life of the five sisters was accompanied by the arrival of wealthy single Handacy (Matthew McFadden) and his friend Gray, two young men. A beautiful love story full of pride and Prejudice unfolded after the healthy and upward Gray and the wealthy Darcy met the five golden flowers of the Bennet family in the town.
Elizabeth (Keira Knightley) is the most diligent of the five sisters. She is also a talented college student. She never considered marriage before graation. But when she met the handsome, cynical Gray and the wise businessman Darcy (Matthew McFadden), her judgment began to be tested. Because the wealthy son Darcy soon fell deeply in love with the beautiful Elizabeth after a brief exchange.
Moreover, Darcy bravely proposed to her regardless of the family and wealth gap, but because of Elizabeth's misunderstanding and prejudice against him, he was relentlessly refused. The reason why Elizabeth misunderstood and prejudiced him was that Darcy, a wealthy man, often showed immortal arrogance, which made the honest and kind Elizabeth disgusted. Because Darcy's arrogance is actually a reflection of status differences, so long as there is such arrogance, there can be no common thoughts and feelings between him and Elizabeth, nor can there be an ideal marriage.
But after a period of time, graally, Elizabeth found and witnessed a qualitative change in Darcy's way of dealing with people and a series of actions. Especially his past proud and conceited manner disappeared completely, so Elizabeth's misunderstanding and prejudice towards him graally disappeared, and a happy marriage finally achieved. Her sisters also got the sweet life they wanted.

Elizabeth Bennett (Keira Knightley) is the second of five daughters, all single and young. When a new man moves into the neighborhood, all of the girls take notice. Mr. Bingley is quite rich and handsome enough, after all. At the first large party for area folks, Mr. Bingley comes to the festivity with his sister and the proud Mr. Darcy in toe. Bingley has his eye on Elizabeth's beautiful sister Jane while Mr. Darcy neither dances or talks to anyone. Although unacknowledged, however, Mr. Darcy is transfixed by Elizabeth and she is strangely drawn to him. Through a series of town meetings, country visits, and more, Elizabeth and Darcy meet again...and again. There is something stirring. Is is disgust or is it love?
This classic story could not be presented better than it is this film. It is utterly lovely in every aspect, every way. The performers are just outstanding, with Knightley giving Elizabeth the fire, the mind, the sensitivity that make her such an appealing person. Mr. McF is to sigh and cry over as his Darcy is handsome, in possession of a arresting voice, and provides a display of the great depth of his own sensitive nature. The costumes and scenery are colossally stunning, as is the editing, the script (most of it is Austen's own words), and anything else that makes a movie this beautiful. Do not let another day go by before you buy a ticket or arrange any other method to watch this film.
㈨ 求Pride and prejudice(傲慢与偏见)英文评价。。 。
What I present is inevitably fallible since it is authentically original.
With both its sensible and courageous heroine's denial of courtship vaccum of mutual respect and reciprocal love and the fulfilling end indicating the matrimony based on genuine love, Pride and Prejudice has long been my favourite novel since my early teenhood. It is true that "Pride and Prejudice" enjoys universal favor, it is ture that it's acknowledged as one of the greatest novels in the 19th century and its author, Jane Austen, has been respected as one of the most distinguished female writer in history.
Yet the re-reading of "P&P" had offered me a new way of understanding and evaluating this classical masterpiece. Elizabeth was once my role model since she shows genuine interests in books and she should know what she wants in marriage. Lizzie is the prototype of a daring princess--she had the mind of her own and would never throw herself to wealthy men; she has good command of skills to argue and to refuse; she undertook the responsibility to protect her youger sister when her much-withdrawing father shuned it; she was not suppressed by her mother like her poor father and nor was she ruined by her mother like her younger sisters; she denied being submissive as Mr Collins offered an courtship. As a young girl who had read too much fairytales in which princesses marry princes the first time they meet without knowing their personalities, and whose conceptions about matrimony was nothing more than a happily-ever-after, I entirely regarded Lizzie as a princess to whom the god had offered a bonus of bravery and ingenuity to challenge the othordoxy.
It is some seven years later and here I am reading P&P and judging the protagonists again. My criteria has changed, though. As I get to know about the patriarchal society in which Lizzie and her sisters and her mothers lived, and as I grow into my early womanhood and become increasingly capable of sympathizing the pressure and fear and social expectations that they had to respond to, I start to associate Lizzie with not a princess, but a sensible lady.
The nineteenth century witnessed a harsh oppression upon women who rely wholy on their male relatives for financial support and social positions. Marriage provides the only salvation if any women wants to improve her social status and living standard. In another work, Jane Austin has pointed out that single women have dreadful propensity for being poor--which is one very strong argument in favor of matrimony. Such was the situation for women, no wonder that the overall conventions could be so suffocating and so maddening that that it had victimized a lot of women. Mrs. Bennet and Miss. Bingley fell into the same category of women who either try every deceitful, evil means to marry a man of higher social ladder for her own sake or wanted her daughters have benefiting marriages. Miss Lucas, who had no choice but to have a marriage without reciprocal love for personal security, is another type. Lydia and Kitty were women who's been ruined by the society that value women only by physical attractiveness and family background. They functioned as selfless, fun-seeking girls who don't have values inside. Lady Catherine DeBurgh represents the proud Aristocrat who despise people from lower classes regardless of their possible good quality. With the recognition of women of these less-respectful types, I become more impressed by Lizzie's well-developed capability of judgements and willfully-preserved pursuits of love in matrimony. Her proud characteristics still reveals
strongly, but it is more justified.
Indeed Lizzie was a proud creature. Her dislike of Mr.Darcy soly resulted from his early offence to her. Darcy's manners of pride and aloofness had actually humiliated Lizzie's pride. Some time before Darcy found his attention being increasingly drawn to her, Lizzie had already decided, out of her pride and the harm done to her pride and her suffering of her tortured and tangled pride, not to like him in the least bit. Her pride was largely originated from her fear of being contempted and being mistakenly regarded as merely the same as her foolish mother and younger sisters, for she probably knew that she has something different--that discrepancy between Lizzie and her mother and sisters had given her a lot more to bear. Her sensitive character gives her the awareness of the existence of the prejudice and disfavourable sentiments against her and her family and her class, and from her defence and defiance and denial of such sentiments, she had formed her own prejudice and disfavourable sentiments against the upper class. It had been, then, a lot of misunderstanding and misjudgements before the defensive pride and prejudice that blinded Lizzie got entirely demolished.
A man of large fortune is surely desirable to single ladies. Yet to a woman of a Lizzie's type, who do, despite the universal of the importance of fortune, value genuine happiness and reciprocal love in a marital relationship, he cannot himself be a form of salvation for her since she defenitely expects more.
When I am reading this book at a second time as a sophomore year assignment, I see clearly how my criteria of judgement alters as my understanding of the world, the relations between men and women and the purpose and reality of marriage advances. Lizzie is no longer that shiny princess who dares to say "no". The original Lizzie that the authoress intended to dicpict becomes more authentic and more vivid, as if I am observing her three-dimentionally.
Lizzie's final fulfilling marriage is no longer a bed-time nice-dream fairytale, but an documentary illustration of managing matrimony with a balancing compromise. Matrimony has long been intrepretted as either the unity of two people who could implant all meaning of life into each other or the only means of practicality of women to acquire an economically better life. Through Lizzie, Jane Austin intended to reveal, with her 19th-century romanticism and her pro-feminist critical judgement, that matrimony is the combination of both.
This, I contend, is the real Austin's voice.
