为什么说这部电影如此有性格呢？原因就是这部电影所获得的票房与影评人的评价完全成反比……在烂番茄上《毒液：致命守护者》的新鲜度已经低到了29%，但是这部电影的票房却在持续的增长，距离上次美叔在文章中提到这部电影的票房刚刚过去一周左右时间，《毒液：致命守护者》的票房又飙升了5000多万美元，现在已经达到5.12亿美元了。

相信DVD版将会更有看头

另外，在《毒液：致命守护者》拍摄期间其实拍了不少非常血腥的镜头的，之前汤姆·哈迪在接受采访时曾说过，成片中至少剪掉了20分钟左右过于暴力的镜头。美叔估计《毒液：致命守护者》的DVD可能会与《死侍2》一样发行未分级版本，这样的话既可以保证院线上映版本与漫威电影宇宙保持一致，又可以保留毒液这个角色最原汁原味的形象。

《毒液》的世界，几乎是由“共生体”（Symbiote）的角色组成，“共生体”是漫威漫画虚构的外星种族，他们有智能，但外型像是战衣或液体般，必须寄生在生命体，共生结合。这次在《猛毒》的首集电影，除了“毒液”的共生体外，还有“暴乱”和“嚎叫”。
由于“毒液”是“蜘蛛侠宇宙”的第一代共生体，后续的共生体，多少都与他相关，我将“毒液”的家族，大致分为三代：

第一代“毒液”
在漫威漫画的共生体世界中，“毒液”（Venom）是名气最大的共生体，而共生体成员的繁衍，大都与他相关。
在漫画中，最早毒液是附生在蜘蛛侠身上，当时彼得帕克还误以为是新战衣，复制了蜘蛛人的超能力，所以又叫毒蜘蛛。
在彼得帕克赶走“毒液”共生体后，他转而附生在记者艾迪布洛克身上。

毒液这角色原是反派，但因为在漫画的人气愈来愈高，他的故事蜕变成为反英雄。此次《毒液》电影的故事取材
据导演鲁宾弗来舍表示，即是选取漫画的《致命的保护者》（Lethal Protector）及 《共生体星球》（Planet of the Symbiotes）的故事。
前者《致命的保护者》的故事是此次角色的主体，艾迪布洛克在被附身后，如何改邪归正，对抗猛毒共生体的后代；
后者《共生体星球》则是以共生体入侵地球的故事做时间背景。

至于毒液共生体衍生的后代，包括“生命基金会”的5大共生体，包括“暴乱”、“嚎叫”、“吞噬”、“皮鞭”和“极端”都与他有关

第二代“血蜘蛛”
“血蜘蛛”（Carnage）应该会是未来《毒液：致命守护者》发展的角色。漫画的故事是杀手克莱图斯卡萨伊（他对大屠杀有天分，所以“血蜘蛛”也叫“屠杀”）
他在一次与艾迪布洛克坐牢同监时，意外从“毒液”共生体离开艾迪布洛克时，而得到共生体（“毒液”共生体在他身上有了新结合，成了“血蜘蛛”）。
“血蜘蛛”比“毒液”共生体的能力更为强大，他后来在漫画中，成了另蜘蛛人相当头痛的反派，必须与毒液联手才能制伏他。

第三代“毒素”
毒素（Toxin）是血蜘蛛的后代，外号“血蜘蛛之子”，意即是由“血蜘蛛”所产的共生体。到了第三代的共生体，共生体已有了一些意识和思想，他一样有毒液及血蜘蛛的超能力，也可隐身变装。
