Marty Robbins - Red River Valley
From this valley they say you are leaving
We shall miss your bright eyes and sweet smile
For you take with you all of the sunshine
That has brightened our pathway a while
Then come sit by my side if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember the Red River Valley
And the cowboy that's loved you so true
For a long time, my darlin', I've waited
For the sweet words you never would say
Now at last all my fond hopes have vanished
For they say that you're going away
Then come sit by my side if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember the Red River Valley
And the cowboy that's loved you so true

The buffalo from the grasslands disappear completely,
It knows that someone is coming.
The earth is waiting for people to reclaim it.
Give it a new life with both hands.
The prairie will be covered with golden ears.
A big city will be built soon.
Welcome to your sisters and brothers,
Come to the most beautiful new world.

Red River Valley
From this valley
They say you are going,
I shall miss your sweet face
And your smile,
For they say
You are taking the sunshine
That brightens our pathway a while.
Come and sit by my side if you love me,
Do not haste to bid me adieu,
But remember the Red River Valley,
And the girl that has loved you so true.
Won' t you think of the valley you' re leaving?
Oh how lonely, how sad it will be,
O think of the fond heart you're breaking
And the grief you are causing.
I have promised you, darling,
That never will a word from my lips cause you pain;
And my life, it will be yours forever
If you only will love me again.
