影片中的小黄人呆萌可爱，它们一直在寻找自己的主人，它们曾经服务过的主人包括霸王龙、原始人、吸血鬼等坏蛋。到了上世纪60年代，凯文、斯图尔特、鲍勃三个小黄人组合又开始卖萌犯傻，它们搭上了银行抢劫犯的顺风车，在经历了一系列的坎坷之后，小黄人终于成为女魔头斯嘉丽的助手，这个女魔头能耐很大，拥有超级机器装备，她很想成为女王，她让三个小黄人为她盗窃英国女王的皇冠。
当三个小黄人盗窃皇冠并打闹了伦敦城市后，脱离险境的招数竟然是拔出“石中剑”！——当鲍勃被众人围攻时，它将“石中剑”使劲一拔，面对手握“石中剑”的鲍勃，所有的人瞬间臣服，鲍勃便成为英国国王了。后来，女魔头找到三个小黄人，她拿着“岩浆枪”那么一吓唬，三个小黄人便立即让贤，变成了女魔头的阶下囚。尽管小黄人它们一直渴望为真正的坏蛋服务，但当它们遇到正真卑鄙的新主人后，它们似乎又不想那么坏了！

在之前两部中《神偷奶爸》中，小黄人虽然是配角，却凭着蠢萌又神经大条的形象抢足了戏份。最新一部《小黄人》干脆把整部电影都献给这些胖嘟嘟的小怪物们。小黄人们当上了电影的主角，依然状况不断，把整部电影都搅乱成了狂欢派对。小黄人神秘的历史也在电影中揭晓。原来这些小黄人在恐龙时代就已经存在，比人类还要悠久。他们有伟大理想，就是要服务地球上最卑鄙的主人。在小黄人扭着屁股追逐理想的过程中，无意间见证了许多有趣的历史。

1. 古代
最开始是恐龙时代。小黄人果断选了看起来最凶猛的“小短手”暴龙当老大。暴龙是陆地上出现过的最大型肉食性动物之一。暴龙很受科幻电影的欢迎，经常在电影中大吼一声就狂奔起来追逐主角。可是在小黄人面前，暴龙显得有些笨拙，还被这些“衰仔”害得掉进岩浆。其实许多化石证据表明暴龙并不灵巧，甚至不会大吼。在小黄人善良天性面前，暴龙终于找回自己，摆脱科幻电影的愚蠢设定，重新变得笨笨哒。镜头无意中扫过许多火山爆发的场景，这也符合恐龙灭绝的一大假设：超级火山爆发造成的环境突变。

Storyline

Abilities
The Purple Minions, are, for all intents and purposes, indestructible, as Kevin (as a evil minion) was hit with a flame thrower and a gun, and was unharmed, struck with an axe and a police car, with no damage, (even eating the axe and car), and even swallowing a bomb and containing the explosion with no problem at all.
