At noon today, the teachers and students of the whole school gathered to watch the war movie Assembly in the amphitheatre. Many students havent seen it, and it feels refreshing. I watched it intently for fear of missing a plot. This movie is really wonderful.

The story takes place ring the War of Liberation, when China and the Kuomintang reactionaries fought to the death. Company commander Gu Zidi led his ninth company. At first, there were more than 100 people. After a battle with the enemy, more than half of them died, and only 47 people were alive. There were few people and many dangers. The film stars a panda named Po (voice of Jack Black), who is so fat he can barely get out of bed. He works for his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong) in a noodle shop, which features Ping's legendary Secret Ingredient. How Ping, apparently a stork or other billed member of the avian family, fathered a panda is a mystery, not least to Po, but then the movie is filled with a wide variety of creatures who don't much seem to notice their differences.

They live in the beautiful Valley of Peace with an ancient temple towering overhead, up zillions of steps, which the pudgy Po can barely climb. But climb them he does, dragging a noodle wagon, because all the people of the valley have gathered up there to witness the choosing of the Dragon Warrior, who will engage the dreaded Tai Lung (Ian McShane) in kung-fu combat. Five contenders have been selected, the "Furious Five": Monkey (Jackie Chan), Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Mantis (Seth Rogen), Viper (Lucy Liu) and Crane (David Cross). Tigress looks like she might be able to do some serious damage, but the others are less than impressive. Mantis in particular seems to weigh about an ounce, tops. All five have been trained (for nearly forever, I gather) by the wise Shifu, who with Dustin Hoffman's voice is one of the more dimensional characters in a story that doesn't give the others a lot of depth. Anyway, it's up to the temple master Oogway (Randall Duk Kim), an ancient turtle, to make the final selection, and he chooses -- yes, he chooses the hapless and pudgy Po.

The story then becomes essentially a series of action sequences, somewhat undermined by the fact that the combatants seem unable to be hurt, even if they fall from dizzying heights and crack stones open with their heads. There's an extended combat with Tai Lung on a disintegrating suspension bridge (haven't we seen that before?), hand-to-hand-to-tail combat with Po and Tai Lung, and upstaging everything, an energetic competition over a single mpling.

"Kung Fu Panda" is not one of the great recent animated films. The story is way too predictable, and truth to tell, Po himself didn't overwhelm me with his charisma. But it's elegantly drawn, the action sequences are packed with energy, and it's short enough that older viewers will be forgiving. For the kids, of course, all this stuff is much of a muchness, and here they go again.

Over 800,000 people had been killed within 100 days. Paul has a tutsi wife, in order to protect his wife, children and other tutsis; he took them to hide in the hotel Rwanda. There are many white people from all over the world lived in this hotel so the hotel is the safest place in Rwanda to hide. There are 80 UN soldiers in Rwanda but only 4 guarded in the hotel and all of them are not allowed to shot. If we say that Paul just wanted to save his wife at the beginning, after recognized that there is no one would come to help the tutsis, Paul throw himself into the breach. He bribed the hutu general by wine and gold, used out every coin of his to purchase the refugees’ lives, ten, a hundred, 2 hundreds, 3 hundreds… more and more tutsi refugees flee to the hotel wishing to survive. To them, Paul is an angel who keeps a hope for those hopeless people in the calamity. His goodness his mercy is the key to be alive.

The hotel Rwanda is a dramatically and war film, ingeniously, there was almost no lens for slaughtering; however, the threatener of death was full filling with the whole movie. One of the tutsi asked Paul,

“Why they are so truculence?”

“ Hatred? Insanity? … I don’t know.”

The event is a humanitarianism disaster and Paul needs no reason to save the lives. When the world closed its eyes, he opened his arms. A review of the Pursuit of Happiness

“The Pursuit of Happyness” was released on the 15th of December 2006. It is a dramatic story based on a biography of Chris Gardner’s nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabrielle Muccino, the film stars Will Smith as Chris Gardner, and co-stars Jaden Smith playing Chris’ son, Christopher Jr. For Will Smith’s performance in the film, he was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. The ‘different’ spelling of the title, ‘Happyness’ is seen by Chris Gardner on the building outside the play centre is son attends, which Chris reminds the owners of the building multiple times that it is spelt with an ‘I’.

The film shows us the struggles Chris Gardner has with homelessness. He is bankrupt because he invested his life savings in portable bone-density scanners, which he thought hospitals would be interested in buying, but in the end hardly any doctors wanted one, as they considered it an ‘expensive luxury’. During the struggles, his wife Linda leaves to go to New York and Chris and his son are left in San Francisco with no income and living in a motel. Chris sees interest in become a stockbroker, but to become one he has to go through an internship. Meanwhile, Chris and his son are evicted because they can’t pay rent, and they are forced to go to a homeless shelter, and even one night had to sleep in the bathroom of the underground rail system. During his internship, he never once mentions his financial struggles and at one point he is asked to give one of his bosses 5 dollars for a cab, a sum that he can’t afford. After an intense six months, Chris is taken into the bosses’ office, and is offered a job as a stockbroker, the final scene shows him being in unbelief of the position he was offered and showing his happiness and gratefulness for the opportunity, Chris realises that his financial struggles are over as he now has a job with a regular income.

Christ was unfortunate, for he got a wife who was not understandable at all (though she has her own difficulties) and was in bad luck with his business. But he was very fortunate also, for he got a son who was very thoughtful and, I think, tough life experiences always make a great person. It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me most are: Christ’s wife left him because of life pressure; Christ’s love to his son and Christ’s strong belief towards life. Mr. Keating let his students tear their books in his class, for he thought that this part of the book was rubbish. He even let the students stand on their desk, for he thought that the students will change the angle of facing things. He used "Uncle Whitman" 's verse "I sound my barbaric YAWP over the roofs of the world" to let his student proce his own poem. He told some of his students about the "Dead Poets Society", and these boys rebuilt it. Mr. Keating was so great in boys' hearts. They loved him, and they thought that he changed their lives. But the school master was not very happy because he broke the rules. He was good, or bad?

One of his students, Neil, wanted to get a character—a fairy. But his father wanted to stop him. By Mr. Keating's help he played it, and he did it very well. On that night, his father was very very angry, because he would like his son to be a doctor, not an actor. Neil was so sad, and he took his own life. His father believed that Mr. Keating cause it. The school let Keating resign the job. But all of his students, Todd, Knox, Charlie... stood on the desk to tell the headmaster that Mr. Keating was clean.

The film is over. We don't know the ending. But we know that the teacher loves his students and they love their teacher, too. This is a very touching story. When so many birds are flying the sky, it amazes me with the majesty. When Neil is dead and the boys run into the snowfield, lots of us cry. When the students stand on the desk to show that their teacher is clean, we even want to clap for them! This teacher doesn't only teach the students knowledge; he also tells his students something about life. He is a good teacher. But he is too unusual to let others understand him. seeing

While I don't like Neil's death. It's a sad event. But it's a good film, I think. The frames on the screen are bright and charming. It attracts me. And I was moved by this film.

Toady I want to share something about a new film this year named Pacific Rim . As a standard Hollywood film，it quiet hot before it came out and it is believed that Pacific Rim will surely be a hit just as Avatar and 20xx.

However，after it came out and everyone rushed into the theater，we only find that it just like another Independence Day. But this time the alien are from the deep ocean not the space. So its predictable plotting really made me sick.

In terms of scenes，it dose have an exciting and fantastic scenes，just as other science-fictiony movies. But with the development and dissemination of the technology，these special effects are mon to the audience. It is not the monopoly of Hollywood film. So it is very important to have interesting plot and profound meaning.

Unfortunately，I didn’t see any active meaning in this film but learning English is important for all the pilots that can not speak English were killed or defeated. Although there are many countries in the film but all the monsters are killed but several American.

At first，many Chinese audiences are glad to find something about China in the film. The battlefield was also in Hong Kong. And many machines were made by China，but it can not conceal the arrogance of the American. They are still in the dream that they are the hero of the world.

In the movie，Chinese people used the body of the monster as medicine and sold these things. The Chinese robot is the largest and need more pilots，but in the battle the robot was defeated by one hit while American robot seemed to be immortal. It made me feel unfortable while seeing these scenes. When all said and done，it is made by American.

In the past，Hollywood film were very popular around the world relying on the advancement of puter technique. But people have bee resistant to it after watching so many similar scenes. It is impossible to suit the audiences’ taste if a film doesn’t show fantastic imagination and moving contents.

So I wonder where are the Hollywood films are going to. In my mind，Hollywood films will not be a sign of excellent films and attractive as it used to be if it still focus on the tedious mercial films. Film is a stage to give human dreams and realize the dream that we all dreamed
