因為根據影片的內容來看是講關於摔跤運動員的故事，在裡面進行參加摔跤比賽的主要是女兒們，她們的爸爸只是她們的教練而已，所以從影片的名字來看與內容是不符合的。

《摔跤吧！爸爸》這部來自印度的體育競技類的影片，原名叫做Wrestling Competition，根據片名的話就是摔跤，如果直譯把這個名字當作影片的名字，對於影片的宣傳效果來說是不好的，畢竟這么直白的名字不會引起人的興趣，加上了爸爸，很有話題性，一下子就提升了人們觀影的興趣，所以一部影片除了本身的內容外，它的名字也是很講究的，一個可以引燃人們興趣的名字可以錦上添花。
