充滿智慧的老山魈(一說狒狒)——巫師拉飛奇(Rafiki)為小辛巴興起行了洗禮，他捧起一把細沙撒在小辛巴頭上。但獅王木法沙(Mufasa)的弟弟刀疤對辛巴的出生卻仇恨不已，他認為如果不是辛巴，自己將會繼承王位，因此在他心中埋下了罪惡的種子。
