As a fan of the books and films, I was truly impressed with how The Half-Blood Prince turned out.

The nature of this Harry Potter is supposed to be dark and mysterious, which I admit it is in some places but it seems like they loaded this one with more humor than the rest. Sometimes subtle, other times just outright hilarious, I guarantee you will laugh. That's not to say there's no action though. There's plenty of that to go around. Not to mention the new romances that are a constant source of the humor.

The returning cast did wonderfully as well as the newcomers such as Jim Broadbent acting as Professor Slughorn. Broadbent really got into character and I believe he is exactly like Rowling describes in her books. Other newcomers Dave Legeno as Fenrir Greyback and Helen McCrory as Malfoy's Mom have smaller parts but portray their characters well for how much room they were given. One thing I have to say is I was surprised at Rupert Grint's level of acting in this one, I don't know if was just being held back or if he just improved that much but it's obvious he's going places.

The fans of the book series won't be disappointed either. They managed to stay very true to the book while keeping it a reasonable length and filling in all the information you need. But I daresay that if you've never read the books you may be surprised and saddened at the ending.

I honestly don't know where to start with this movie. I will say however, that - like many other people - this is the film I've been waiting 20 years to see.
I suppose it's sensible to start with what should be the foundation stone of any cinematic experience - the script. It's cheesy, cliché-ridden, and poorly-structured. Characterisation (especially of the Autobots/Decepticons) is non-existent. Optimus Prime uttering the words "My bad" must go down in history as one of the worst moments in movie history. Actually scratch that - the "lubricating" scene is definitely worse. The writing of human characters is lazy at best, sticking with stereotypes such as the beautiful code-breaker, fat computer whizz, bumbling government agent etc etc. The performances (Shia aside) are instantly forgettable, but a great deal of that comes down to the script and direction. Megan Fox may be a great actress for all I know, but she may as well be a stripper for the purposes of this movie.
The effects are incredible (although not helped by Bay's erratic editing style), but when you've no reason to care about them it results in an empty experience. Effects DON'T MAKE A MOVIE.
With Spielberg as part of this project I allowed myself a little optimism, but it's patently clear that Bay and Co. had no understanding or respect for the Transformers franchise. GIANT "FLIPPING" ROBOTS BLOWING "STUFF" UP this may be, but it is most certainly not Transformers.

Now, 「Joe Somebody」 is a cliched-filled family film with lines and situations so predictable, audiences will be left groaning rather than laughing. Sure the film has a couple funny moments– the scene where Allen and a bunch of 40-something co-workers do Karaoke to the Backstreet Boys』 「Larger Than Life」 should receive a few laughs from the 20 and under crowd– but it』s ending is so corny that nothing could prevent audiences from wishing they saw Harry Potter or Monsters, Inc. for the umpteenth time rather than sitting through 「Joe.」

Forrest Gump is so unique because of the character Forrest Gump himself,who has a low IQ of only 75.I love that Forrest doesn't lose his innocence and purity throughout the movie,or maybe he just can't but either way,this shows you don't need to be evil or really intelligent to be recognised or successful.It is just a movie,so maybe it doesn't work like that in reality.What that simply means is that the acting and story of this film was incredibly touching on a real level.And in my definition that's what a good movie should be able to do.
