My view of「the day after tomorrow」

This is my second time to see 「the day after tomorrow」. The first time, and many others, I see the contradiction between human and nature, environmental pollution, energy deficiency. How stupid human are, and human is so small in the disaster. Then, I think more about how to protect the environment and save energy to avoid this situation happens.

But this time, I didn』t see the film from environment, but from the human. I saw people』s affection, friendship and love in the face of death, serious work and dedication, and some people is fatuous and ignorant in the face of scientific.

The time, I really feel what is responsibility, what is persist, what is commitment. In many cases, we do not need to go to the principle of the so-called persistent on the way of things. Some critical moment, we have to give up some minor things, only know how to choose can do anything more perfect.

這是我第二次看《後天》這部電影。第一次，和很多人一樣，我看到的是人類和自然的矛盾，環境問題，資源問題，覺得人類是多麼的愚蠢，在災難面前是多麼的渺小。然後就想著怎樣保護環境，節約能源，避免電影上的情況真的發生。

但是這次，我並沒有從環境的角度去看這部電影，而是從人性的角度去看。我看到了，在災難面前人們親情、友情、愛情的體現，看到了人們在死亡面前的勇敢，對工作的認真和執著，還有一些人在科學面前的愚昧與無知。

這次，我深深地感受到了什麼是責任，什麼是堅持，什麼是承諾。很多時候，我們沒有必要為了那些所謂的原則去執著於某一種做事方式。在某些關鍵時刻，我們必須得放棄一些次要的東西，必須懂得取捨才可以把一件事做得更完美。

Wallace, leader of the rebellion, was a real hero. He fought bravely with his soldiers, for neither wealth nor power. What they want the most is that they could live a free life.

After long-time fighting, the rebellion was beaten down and Wallace was arrested. The ruler gave hime a last chance to confess and promised him if he did so, he might not be sentenced.

But what's Wallace's choice. At the last of his life, he abandoned the chance to survive and cried out, 'freedom'. This was the word that all people in Scotland wanted to say.

This movie tells us that there is something named freedom which is more important than life.

I honestly don't know where to start with this movie. I will say however, that - like many other people - this is the film I've been waiting 20 years to see.
I suppose it's sensible to start with what should be the foundation stone of any cinematic experience - the script. It's cheesy, cliché-ridden, and poorly-structured. Characterisation (especially of the Autobots/Decepticons) is non-existent. Optimus Prime uttering the words "My bad" must go down in history as one of the worst moments in movie history. Actually scratch that - the "lubricating" scene is definitely worse. The writing of human characters is lazy at best, sticking with stereotypes such as the beautiful code-breaker, fat computer whizz, bumbling government agent etc etc. The performances (Shia aside) are instantly forgettable, but a great deal of that comes down to the script and direction. Megan Fox may be a great actress for all I know, but she may as well be a stripper for the purposes of this movie.
The effects are incredible (although not helped by Bay's erratic editing style), but when you've no reason to care about them it results in an empty experience. Effects DON'T MAKE A MOVIE.
With Spielberg as part of this project I allowed myself a little optimism, but it's patently clear that Bay and Co. had no understanding or respect for the Transformers franchise. GIANT "FLIPPING" ROBOTS BLOWING "STUFF" UP this may be, but it is most certainly not Transformers.
