John Grisham is from Tennessee, (a state that I know best among all states in the U.S.), and sets the stage of the story here.

Mitch McDeere was not to enjoy these extraordinary treatments for nothing. He was soon to find out weird things happened in The Firm. Upon further digging, he was to discover the danger to his career and even his life.

The FBI had soon contacted him and he was caught in the middle. With his wit, legal knowledge and help from unexpected source, he came out fresh. Grisham had really outsmarted the readers.

The book brought readers to different cities in Tennessee, and to Panama City, Florida, another city I am very familiar with. In fact, the book described a trailer park, which is right opposite to the condominium I always stay. I have even friends from Nashville, Tennessee who parked her trailer there. When reading this book, I had a special kind of kinship towards it. I felt that I was there witnessing the event happening.
