《毒液》電影的副標題《致命守護者》，取自同名漫威漫畫《毒液：知名守護者》，講述了毒液艾迪布洛克在亞洲成為一名反英雄保衛平民的故事。是一部反派角色的獨立電影。

但電影里，其實人家是位乖乖仔、好寶寶，不僅拯救了地球，還拯救了一個落寞loser的愛情。看似長得凶，人家最多也就吃吃壞人的腦袋，遇到不錯的姑娘，還很會憐香惜玉。而且，這是位話嘮、冷笑話高手、反差萌磚家，和你們的「湯老師」你來我往，CP感十足。這樣丑萌有趣的毒液，有誰會不愛呢。

為什麼說這部電影如此有性格呢？原因就是這部電影所獲得的票房與影評人的評價完全成反比……在爛番茄上《毒液：致命守護者》的新鮮度已經低到了29%，但是這部電影的票房卻在持續的增長，距離上次美叔在文章中提到這部電影的票房剛剛過去一周左右時間，《毒液：致命守護者》的票房又飆升了5000多萬美元，現在已經達到5.12億美元了。

相信DVD版將會更有看頭

另外，在《毒液：致命守護者》拍攝期間其實拍了不少非常血腥的鏡頭的，之前湯姆·哈迪在接受采訪時曾說過，成片中至少剪掉了20分鍾左右過於暴力的鏡頭。美叔估計《毒液：致命守護者》的DVD可能會與《死侍2》一樣發行未分級版本，這樣的話既可以保證院線上映版本與漫威電影宇宙保持一致，又可以保留毒液這個角色最原汁原味的形象。
