劇情簡介：

1980年，旅居美國的華僑企業家許景由在女秘書宋蕉英的陪同下回國旅遊，並尋找失散多年的兒子許靈均。

經過中國旅行社的幫助，許靈均從西北的敕勒川牧場趕到北京飯店，同父親許景由見面了。當年，由於封建婚姻，許景由與妻子一直不和，後來丟下妻兒離家出走。在許景由走後的第四天，許靈均的母親就病故了。
