第一次參加配音的譯製片是日本影片《阿西門的街》。主要配音作品有電影《羅馬假日》安妮公主、《莉莉瑪蓮》莉莉瑪蓮，墨西哥電視劇《卞卡》卞卡等。1987年，為「卞卡」配音獲中國電影表演藝術學會首屆學會獎。還曾獲長影小百花優秀配音獎、文化部優秀女主角配音獎等。現為中國電影表演藝術學會會員。
金毅的父親是菲律賓人，曾就職於長影樂團。母親是韓國人。金毅是在參加工作以後才加入中國國籍的。

·在拍攝公主（奧黛麗·赫本）對喬說告別這段場景時，毫無經驗的赫本在表演的過程中怎麼也無法流下眼淚。最後，惹惱的導演威廉·韋勒抱怨浪費了這么多膠片，赫本的眼淚立即掉了下來，這段場景也因此順利完成拍攝。
