《毒液：致命守護者》爛番茄頁面

為什麼說這部電影如此有性格呢？原因就是這部電影所獲得的票房與影評人的評價完全成反比……在爛番茄上《毒液：致命守護者》的新鮮度已經低到了29%，但是這部電影的票房卻在持續的增長，距離上次美叔在文章中提到這部電影的票房剛剛過去一周左右時間，《毒液：致命守護者》的票房又飆升了5000多萬美元，現在已經達到5.12億美元了。

相信DVD版將會更有看頭

另外，在《毒液：致命守護者》拍攝期間其實拍了不少非常血腥的鏡頭的，之前湯姆·哈迪在接受采訪時曾說過，成片中至少剪掉了20分鍾左右過於暴力的鏡頭。美叔估計《毒液：致命守護者》的DVD可能會與《死侍2》一樣發行未分級版本，這樣的話既可以保證院線上映版本與漫威電影宇宙保持一致，又可以保留毒液這個角色最原汁原味的形象。

《毒液》的世界，幾乎是由「共生體」（Symbiote）的角色組成，「共生體」是漫威漫畫虛構的外星種族，他們有智能，但外型像是戰衣或液體般，必須寄生在生命體，共生結合。這次在《猛毒》的首集電影，除了「毒液」的共生體外，還有「暴亂」和「嚎叫」。
由於「毒液」是「蜘蛛俠宇宙」的第一代共生體，後續的共生體，多少都與他相關，我將「毒液」的家族，大致分為三代：

第一代「毒液」
在漫威漫畫的共生體世界中，「毒液」（Venom）是名氣最大的共生體，而共生體成員的繁衍，大都與他相關。
在漫畫中，最早毒液是附生在蜘蛛俠身上，當時彼得帕克還誤以為是新戰衣，復制了蜘蛛人的超能力，所以又叫毒蜘蛛。
在彼得帕克趕走「毒液」共生體後，他轉而附生在記者艾迪布洛克身上。

毒液這角色原是反派，但因為在漫畫的人氣愈來愈高，他的故事蛻變成為反英雄。此次《毒液》電影的故事取材
據導演魯賓弗來舍表示，即是選取漫畫的《致命的保護者》（Lethal Protector）及 《共生體星球》（Planet of the Symbiotes）的故事。
前者《致命的保護者》的故事是此次角色的主體，艾迪布洛克在被附身後，如何改邪歸正，對抗猛毒共生體的後代；
後者《共生體星球》則是以共生體入侵地球的故事做時間背景。

至於毒液共生體衍生的後代，包括「生命基金會」的5大共生體，包括「暴亂」、「嚎叫」、「吞噬」、「皮鞭」和「極端」都與他有關
因為是從他身上提取5個卵，分別「孵化」，再與「生命基金會」的5個保安人員進行結合。

第二代「血蜘蛛」
「血蜘蛛」（Carnage）應該會是未來《毒液：致命守護者》發展的角色。漫畫的故事是殺手克萊圖斯卡薩伊（他對大屠殺有天分，所以「血蜘蛛」也叫「屠殺」）
他在一次與艾迪布洛克坐牢同監時，意外從「毒液」共生體離開艾迪布洛克時，而得到共生體（「毒液」共生體在他身上有了新結合，成了「血蜘蛛」）。
「血蜘蛛」比「毒液」共生體的能力更為強大，他後來在漫畫中，成了另蜘蛛人相當頭痛的反派，必須與毒液聯手才能制伏他。

第三代「毒素」
毒素（Toxin）是血蜘蛛的後代，外號「血蜘蛛之子」，意即是由「血蜘蛛」所產的共生體。到了第三代的共生體，共生體已有了一些意識和思想，他一樣有毒液及血蜘蛛的超能力，也可隱身變裝。
