年輕醫生Wil（楊雅慧 飾）是個美國華裔。她事業如意，工作干煉，但就是不愛打扮，不喜歡結交男朋友，這令到母親（陳沖 飾）非常操心。母親刻意拉女兒到一些華人圈子的聚會，幫女兒物色對象，卻總是一無所獲。
不料母親的生活也開始混亂——她懷上了孩子，卻不願公開誰是孩子父親。為了面子問題，Wil的外公外婆把母親趕出家門，責令她一定要找個人嫁出去。於是，媽媽投奔到女兒的門下，暫時寄宿在此，女兒開始四處網羅男人相親。
除了母親的事情讓Wil煩惱，她還有一個秘密需要苦心遮掩——自己女同的身份恐怕會讓思想傳統的母親接受不了，於是，Wil和女朋友開始轉戰地下，二人愛得偷偷摸摸。人人為了面子，都有一個自己的心結，不知何時打開
