Pride and Prejudice is a famous classic written by Jane Austen. I was attracted by the characters and plots of the film adapted from the novel.

Elizabeth is the heroine of the story. When she meets Darcy, a handsome, rich but arrogant man, on the party for the first time, she is dissatisfied with the proud manner of Darcy. Darcy looks down on those who are in a lower social class,including Elizabeth. However, after getting to know the courage, independence and confidence of Elizabeth, he almost falls in love with her. But Elizabeth believes the lies of Wickham which causes her great prejudice to Darcy. She rejects Darcy』s propose marriage to protect her self-respect. Finally, Darcy goes away because he couldn』t tolerate Elizabeth』s sisters』 vulgar manners. He writes a long letter to explain his thoughts and love to Elizabeth. After reading it, Elizabeth feels guilty about misjudging Darcy and regrets turning him down. As time goes away, Darcy graally improves his pride and keeps helping Elizabeth』s family out from troubles. At last, Elizabeth removes the prejudice to Darcy and accepts his propose marriage.

From the film I learn that we can』t judge a man immediately by the first impression. If we are controlled by our subjective senses, it will easy cause prejudice and misunderstanding and probably influent the developments of many events. 「The Pursuit of Happyness」 was released on the 15th of December 2006. It is a dramatic story based on a biography of Chris Gardner』s nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabrielle Muccino, the film stars Will Smith as Chris Gardner, and co-stars Jaden Smith playing Chris』 son, Christopher Jr. For Will Smith』s performance in the film, he was nominated for an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor. The 『different』 spelling of the title, 『Happyness』 is seen by Chris Gardner on the building outside the play centre is son attends, which Chris reminds the owners of the building multiple times that it is spelt with an 『I』.

The film shows us the struggles Chris Gardner has with homelessness. During the struggles, his wife Linda leaves to go to New York and Chris and his son are left in San Francisco with no income and living in a motel. Meanwhile, Chris and his son are evicted because they can』t pay rent, and they are forced to go to a homeless shelter, and even one night had to sleep in the bathroom of the underground rail system. During his internship, he never once mentions his financial struggles and at one point he is asked to give one of his bosses 5 dollars for a cab, a sum that he can』t afford. After an intense six months, Chris is taken into the bosses』 office, and is offered a job as a stockbroker, the final scene shows him being in unbelief of the position he was offered and showing his happiness and gratefulness for the opportunity, Chris realises that his financial struggles are over as he now has a job with a regular income.

Christ was unfortunate, for he got a wife who was not understandable at all (though she has her own difficulties) and was in bad luck with his business. But he was very fortunate also, for he got a son who was very thoughtful and, I think, tough life experiences always make a great person. It is said that this movie is inspired by a true story, and I want to say, this movie does inspire me a lot. What impressed me most are: Christ』s wife left him because of life pressure; Christ』s love to his son and Christ』s strong belief towards life. Through these, I know that it is not easy to be a good husband and a good Papa, since in reality, only love cannot only make everything. And I also learn that one has to strongly believe in himself, no matter how difficult the situation is, but of course, hard-working is indispensable.

The film stars a panda named Po (voice of Jack Black), who is so fat he can barely get out of bed. He works for his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong) in a noodle shop, which features Ping's legendary Secret Ingredient. The story then becomes essentially a series of action sequences, somewhat undermined by the fact that the combatants seem unable to be hurt, even if they fall from dizzying heights and crack stones open with their heads. There's an extended combat with Tai Lung on a disintegrating suspension bridge (haven't we seen that before?), hand-to-hand-to-tail combat with Po and Tai Lung, and upstaging everything, an energetic competition over a single mpling.
"Kung Fu Panda" is not one of the great recent animated films. The story is way too predictable, and truth to tell, Po himself didn't overwhelm me with his charisma But it's elegantly drawn, the action sequences are packed with energy, and it's short enough that older viewers will be forgiving. This story has no business with romantic in my mind. What it tells me is about change and attitude. Eliza’s father, used to be a man has nothing left to lose, is now tied by morality and status which he never cares about before. The change of his financial affairs leads to the change of his living attitude. Casting back the reason why it happens is just a joke said by Higgins, and that is really a satire, isn’t it?

Generally speaking, although three hours of the time is actually a little bit long, this film is still worth to watch, I highly recommend it.

In my opinion this is the best Cinderella story that there is. The characters are fantastic! With all their different personalities coming together, it really makes the story fun to watch. And the music is wonderful, the songs are beautiful and catchy but not cheesy. The story line has more of a twist, in that the dream doesn't come true right when the slipper fits. If you love fairy tales and whimsical romances, this is the perfect movie for you.

I watched this movie when it first came out thirty years ago. The music is wonderful. Just what you would expect. The take on the story is a little different but not so different as to disappoint diehard Cinderella fans. There is more of a back story to the Prince and a new dilemma keeping him and Cinderella apart. The stepmother and stepsisters are divine. They nailed the parts. The fairy godmother is a riot and probably my favorite character in this movie. The incidental love story of the prince's companion-at-arms and a lady-in-waiting is very charming. I have always loved fairy tales and I was not disappointed in the retelling of one of the world's favorites.

When the water was poured into the ship, when men are forced to be obstructed from their wives and children, an old couple held each other tightly in the bed; a father comforted his daughter he will just leave her for a while, just a little while… When Titanic was sinking, some musicians were performing pieces of music, some disciples were praying to Virgin Mary around the priest on their knees…
In conclusion, the film of 「Titanic」 is not simply an affectional story between Jack and Rose. It shows more than love. The wreck of Titanic represents the collapse of the Capitalism, which is considered 「unsinkable」 by most people. The film also shows different aspects of human nature. Some people own strong vainglory, while some other possess much of love; still others are rich in firm faith and beliefs. This film was absolutely amazing. I have spent hours re-watching various scenes and noticing all the perfection with which they are acted and directed. It's not the violence or action sequences that make this movie so great (although they are well done...), but rather moments like where Mathilda knocks on Leon's door. It would be so easy to just film the door opening, but instead we see light illuminating Natalie Portman's face, symbolizing something angelic. And the moment has so much more meaning.
I know a lot of people who have seen this film because they are action fans. I'm not. But I'm glad I finally found it, because it's a wonderful film in so many other ways.

Gua Sha is a movie about the differences between American and Chinese culture. Xu datong is a video games designer in St. Louis. When his father visits from China, he performs Gua Sha (a Chinese traditional treatment) on his grandson, which leaves bright red marks on the skin and causes a lawsuit of child abuse. In the court, Datong loses his mind so that finally he loses custody of his son. I think this scene is shocking and thought-provoking to most of the Chinese audiences. But the most impressing scene to me is the ending. Datong wants to see his son in Christmas eve, he has to climb a pipe to the ninth floor which his son lives. I think the pipe is not only a pipe, but also a gap, a deep gap between American and 5000-year Chinese culture. He wants to climb over the gap and he will never succeed, perhaps no Chinese people really could succeed.
