懷著看災難片的心情去《唐山大地震》，可是災難的場面並沒有多麼的氣勢磅礴與嘆為觀止，那鏡頭下的中國卻讓人懷念與思考。
76年的中國，還是計劃經濟階段，生活的形式是簡單的，感覺卻是幸福的，電影里小兩口已經有了一對龍鳳胎作為母親的卻還想要生孩子，在說著計劃要孩子的時候母親（徐帆飾演）表現出來的熱情與對孩子的熱愛是那麼的的純粹與無私完全沒有考慮到自己生活質量的問題。
一家四口的日子沒有任何的問題，父母健健康康的，孩子活潑可愛。雖然愛孩子的心是無私的，可是在對待男女平等的問題上，幾千年來男尊女卑的中國式思維方式依然在無形中主導著大多數人去思考問題。當只剩下最後一個西紅柿的時候，雙胞胎的姐妹兩，女孩子就得做出犧牲讓著男孩，這不是偏愛，這是一種習慣，一種重男輕女思想的延續。
地震突然來襲的時候，所有的幸福與小市民簡單的生存方式被搖得碎如粉，無能為力的無可奈何。幾分鍾前還在灰撲撲的車里與丈夫玩車震，那簡單的風情與浪漫表現出了他們對生活的熱愛與滿足這著實難得，一句台詞：「這么熱的天，全唐山就我們倆做這事。」簡單而生動的描述出了他們對現狀的滿足；幾分鍾後卻陰陽兩隔，生死殊途，沒有半點的提示，沒有一點點的預兆，在瓦礫倒下的那一刻，丈夫推了妻子最後一把，妻子得以死裡逃生，這愛用生命劃上了一個凄美的句號。

兒子（李晨飾演）在經歷了災難後，個性頑強，求生慾望強烈，他心疼母親，不怕吃苦，踩三輪，獨自出外闖盪，堅韌的性格讓他後來在事業上有了不錯的表現，知道感恩，汶川地震的時候身為公司老總的他親自帶隊抗震救災，他遷就自己母親勝過自己的老婆，很難得！

32年後，兩姐妹在汶川抗震救災中偶遇，姐姐原以為自己割捨了32年的親情已經不復存在，會隨著她有意的掩藏與隨著她遠嫁它鄉而如車站的月台消失在身後，可是血濃於水，分離32年的親人只一眼相見親情就如烈火般在心裡燃燒起來，燃燒到她自責自己32年的行為，親人畢竟是親人。母親跪下來淚眼悉索對女兒說：「對不起，對不起。」女兒32年幽幽怨怨的情感就都融入到了淚水中。
墳墓里的書包，課本，母親的不願搬家，一切的一切的深深的觸動了女兒，她自責的蹲在自己的墳頭哭著……，那一幕意義深刻，女兒不願這墓被拆。房子可以塌，家卻不會破，人會離去，情感卻不會死……
災難是無情的，人是有情的。

In the earthquake, the mother was forced to save only one of her children,and fianally she painfully chose her son.However ,the daughter actually survived on her own and was adopted by others,but she hated her mother for not choosing her at that time.They did not meet each other until 32 years later,when the Wenchuan earthquake struck China.At the end, the daughter understand her mother's love for her,and they hug each other, crying.
Although we can not escape from the natual disaster, but we have love.With love we can survive all the pains adn all the obstacles. Sometimes children may have doubt about their parents' love, but actually every parent has devoted all their love to their children. The daughter in the movie took 32 years to realize this.
Love is the greatest power to let human survive until now.
